The Thai restaurant in the Chengdu Qingchengshan Six Senses Resort has a Thai dome-style building with an elegant environment. It is very comfortable to sit by the window. The dishes are also very good. There are not many people in the off-season, and the food is very comfortable.
It is a blessing to be able to taste Thai food at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain. I told the waitress in the restaurant that our baby had a birthday today, and she immediately gave me an ice cream cake, which made her excited all night! The taste, environment and service were very good.
Springtime weather was pleasant, so we took advantage of our baby's holiday to stay two nights at the Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain Hotel. As the only Six Senses hotel currently available in China, we have many honest impressions to share with other mothers. First, overall impression: The price isn't very cost-effective for families with children (converted to $400 USD, it would be more friendly to international tourists). The hotel's overall performance was average, but considering the price, the experience fell short of expectations. The hotel's public areas are rather small, and the facilities show signs of age. However, being located in Qingcheng Mountain, the natural environment is excellent, the air is fresh, and the hotel even has its own farm. We took our baby on a visit, which allowed them to learn about various fruits and vegetables—a small nature education experience. However, opinions on farm experiences vary. The swimming pool has a unique design, but it's a bit small. However, the water temperature was perfect for spring, and our baby could play happily in it. Surprisingly, the lifeguards were very responsible, monitoring the pool constantly, which was reassuring (I can't help but mention the lifeguards were quite fit…excuse me for digressing). Some of the hotel's recreational facilities weren't well maintained; for example, the checkers pieces were incomplete, so our baby didn't have enough fun. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, focusing on natural ingredients like vegetables grown on the hotel's own farm. Perhaps it's just my personal taste, but I wasn't particularly impressed. It wasn't as suitable for families as the breakfast at the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu (many branded hotels in Chengdu are said to be of similar quality, but the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu is more affordable, while a standard room at Six Senses costs around 2800 RMB per night). The restaurant and bar were quite small, decorated in a minimalist, Muji-esque style, which I personally didn't like, making it feel somewhat cramped and lacking a family-friendly atmosphere. The afternoon tea experience was also just average, nothing particularly impressive. Perhaps it's a matter of personal taste, but the hotel's emphasis on environmental protection is commendable. Due to the somewhat dated environment, the afternoon tea area felt a bit like a teahouse in People's Park; some of the streams had dried up, making the view less appealing. The hotel's Thai restaurant menu didn't offer anything particularly appealing to families with children, but the food is said to be quite good. Any moms who have been there, please share your experiences! Service was average; the shuttle service was quick, which is commendable, but for a hotel at this price point, the service is only so-so. There was a minor incident: we wanted to take our child to see a villa that was under renovation, but the staff refused, which disappointed our child. Regarding room facilities, while the hotel claims to be environmentally conscious, the level of smart technology is relatively low. The mattresses were comfortable, but other amenities hardly qualify as luxurious (at this price, you could at least experience a family-friendly hotel with impressive design in major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen). A highlight of the hotel is its Tai Chi classes taught by a master instructor. Families we were traveling with with their children tried it and gave very positive feedback, saying it allowed their children to experience the charm of traditional culture. The "egg search" activity was also unique; taking children to find eggs on a farm not only developed their observation skills but also enhanced parent-child interaction, which our child thoroughly enjoyed. Conclusion: Personally, I think that while environmental protection is a commendable concept, it's difficult to truly implement effectively. Doing it well creates a unique feature, while failing to do so can easily be seen as an excuse for being stingy. Families with ample funds who want to experience the Six Senses brand with their babies, or hotel brand collectors, may consider staying here. Other families with children are advised to consider carefully and not have overly high expectations to avoid disappointment (of course, at this price point, expectations are naturally higher, so disappointment is highly likely). All in all, based on feedback, this hotel is more like a luxury version of a guesthouse, a pro Max version of a rural retreat, suitable for families seeking tranquility and nature who don't mind older facilities. Accommodation Tips: Nearby recommendations include Atour Hotel Qingcheng Mountain Front and Qingcheng Mountain Zun Hotel, both well-known family-friendly luxury hotels around Qingcheng Mountain with comprehensive facilities and abundant family activities, providing a better vacation experience for children. #PlacesAskedUpOnWeChat #FamilyTravel #AmazingHotelViews #HotelAddict #TheMeaningOfLiangYongAn'sJourney
