SmadGuanghan Night Food Review | A hidden Sichuan restaurant only known to locals, this Dengzhanwo is absolutely amazing! 🌶️
Scooping for a late-night meal, I stumbled upon this unassuming yet packed old place. The aroma of fireworks captivated me as I walked in—authentic Guanghan flavors straight out of the box!
🏠 Dengzhanwo Restaurant
📍No. 6, Section 2, Hunan Road
🕒A late-night eatery open until midnight
💰40 yuan per person, enough to fill you up
Must-Order🔝Garlic Sprout Dengzhanwo
It arrived still sizzling! The crispy, tender garlic sprouts smothered in the aroma of meat, the Dengzhanwo are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. One bite and you're completely loaded with carbs! 🌶️ Even those who don't eat garlic were eager to grab one!
Secret Way to Enjoy It: Fried Egg Soup with Rice
The seemingly ordinary fried egg soup has become a surprise hit! Golden egg droplets, soaked up the umami flavor of the bone broth, open up a whole new world when poured over rice. The staff says regular customers know how to enjoy it this way.
Our signature dish: Braised Pork Knuckle.
The pork knuckle, braised fresh daily, has a gelatinous sheen and is so tender it trembles with chopsticks! Paired with the restaurant's specially blended chili oil, it's so fragrant it'll make your mouth water! 🤤
The restaurant is full of locals speaking Sichuanese. The wooden tables and chairs are polished but immaculately polished, and the waitresses enthusiastically recommend seasonal dishes. For late-night snacks, be sure to share a table; locals gather here to chat and slurp noodles.
Tips:
👉 Classic Sichuan dishes like diced cucumber and pork and shredded pork with chives are perfectly stir-fried with a wok-fried aroma.
👉 Steamed pumpkin is sweet and chewy, a surprisingly effective way to beat the heat.
👉 The menu is most extensive after 5 PM, making it a great night owl-friendly option.

Twice-cooked pork has long been considered the quintessential Sichuan dish, the very embodiment of Sichuan cuisine. Mentioning Sichuan cuisine inevitably brings to mind twice-cooked pork. Twice-cooked pork cooked in a "Dengzhanwo" style is a work of art, imbued with soul and authenticity. "Dengzhanwo" in Sichuanese terminology refers to the highest level of twice-cooked pork. Imbued with a chivalrous and down-to-earth spirit, this dish, simmering with passion and sizzling with fire, always manages to meet the surging hunger and cravings of men and women amidst the rising flames. While visiting Sanxingdui in Guanghan, I happened to hear a friend mention the "Dengzhanwo" restaurant. Since they're so daring in using this name, they must be quite good. The "Dengzhanwo" here truly lives up to its reputation, with the meat generously balanced, white, fat, and red, lean, yet not greasy, and lean without getting stuck in the teeth. The chewy texture of the pig skin, the melting fat, and the balanced lean meat all roll across the tongue, creating a delightful and satisfying experience. The flavor is light, vibrant, and full, with a subtle sweet aftertaste, leaving you wanting more. #Food#Travel
