If you want to travel around Foshan on the weekend, visiting Kaiping would be a good choice! The distance from Foshan to Kaiping is a little over 100 kilometers. You can go back and forth in one day. It is a good idea to eat, shop and see the Diaolou! Itinerary: We arrived at Tangkou, Kaiping at about 11:30 in the morning. For lunch, we chose Qiaojia Village Farm in Tangkou. The location of this farm is very easy to find. It is on the road from Liyuan to Chikan Ancient Town. It is located in the fields by the road. It is very comfortable. Behind it are fields and ponds. There are ducks and geese in the pond. Next to the pond are local Kaiping characteristic houses. The farm’s specialty dishes include Kaiping delicacies such as boiled Magang goose and yellow eel rice, and of course, mugwort rice cakes are indispensable in spring. After dinner, we went to visit the Chikan Ancient Town. I had been here once before when the construction of the ancient town was not yet completed, and I just wandered around outside. At that time, the landmark Diaolou area was still free, but now it is all fenced off. The ticket costs 150 yuan per person, not including the tram and boat tickets. You can just walk around inside, there are many restaurants to eat in, and watch performances, but the performances are quite watery. Personally, I don’t think I will come again next time! After leaving Chikan Ancient Town, we went to Yangang Town and visited the free Diaolou, Zhongjian Building and Liandeng Village. It was nice to take a walk. Then we returned and had dinner in Heshan. Personally, I think Kaiping Tangkou is quite beautiful, especially in summer and autumn when there are rice fields. I have walked this route before: Zili Village, Liyuan, Majianglong, and Jinjiangli, which is quite okay. It’s much better than going to Chikan Ancient Town.
