It's been a while since I've been to this store. I used to come here all the time when I worked nearby. The service has improved a lot, a big thumbs up! Very good. The fermented bean curd cake was still there, and it tasted the same as always, a perfect balance of sweet and salty. It was a bit too salty; a little less salty would have been better. The pistachio cake was delicious, just my favorite flavor. They also have afternoon tea deals, and the prices are reasonable!
We arrived around 10am, breakfast is from 8am- 10.30am, that is a scramble eggs with ham, lettuce, tomato and croissant. The breakfast was really good for the price ¥48 per person. American coffee and the latte with oat milk was perfect. We also ordered the lasagna that was amazing, highly recommend! The waiter was so cute, she couldn’t speak English but she did everything smoothly and very polite. The architecture is beautiful. love the place!
If the bustling [Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street] belongs to tourists, then [THE PRESS (Shenbaoguan Branch)] across the street must be a low-key treasure place for our friends in Shanghai~ 👉 I have always loved this restaurant in a century-old building. Although it follows a Western style, it often has surprises of mixing various Chinese and Western ingredients! 👉 The recently launched spring limited edition [Toona Sinensis Spanish Potato Omelette] has an unexpectedly delicious taste. The unique spring flavor of Toona Sinensis makes the whole brunch particularly fresh. 👉 The environment of the restaurant itself is very beautiful, and the exquisite details of the old building have been well preserved, which is a great satisfaction for both taste and vision!
📰 Shenbaoguan has always been a pocket restaurant that I want to visit. It feels like it has the characteristics of old Shanghai. 🪑The environment is really good. I went upstairs to the bathroom and found that it was super big. It is worth coming up to see it. It has the atmosphere of a newspaper office. ☕️The latte is very good, and it was basically within five minutes last time, super fast. 🦐The shrimp salad is very delicious! The shrimp is very fresh! The dishes are very good and quite unexpected. 🐟The sea bass is highly recommended, fresh and not fishy or earthy. 🥣The stewed rice is not as delicious as this one, a little fuzzy. 👤The service is actually quite good, and there are waiters standing by at various locations. 🎺The only drawback is that the ceiling is too high, which makes the restaurant really loud when there are many people. #Western food #coffee #fish #seafood
Shenbao is one of the most influential newspapers in the history of modern Chinese newspaper development. This two-story building is now located in the center of downtown Shanghai, and it is low-key and hidden in the world with a lot of historical stories. If it weren't for this European retro coffee shop on the first floor, few people would visit it.
The overall building is in Baroque style, filled with a lot of decorative symbols... Under the orange light, you can choose a seat near the glass window, look out the window at the drizzle, drink a cup of osmanthus espresso, eat a bite of rose fermented bean curd cheesecake, and "talk about love on paper" is particularly romantic.
