Shan Yoe Yar

Shan Yoe Yar is a Shan restaurant. Shan State is the largest state in Myanmar. Shan people's food may be different from that of Burmese people (or more like our Thai people?). I just think it's a bit too homely. It's nothing more than pumpkin puree, mushroom stew, snow vegetable with vermicelli. The fried vegetables are interesting and delicious (fried food can't be bad...). This restaurant is also opened in a shopping mall operated by Shangri-La. If you eat as much as you can and add a glass of wine, it's only more than 80 RMB.

It is near the National Museum of Myanmar, about 0.4 kilometers away. The environment is very good and the most important thing is that you can see a lot of local people. In this way, you will feel that the dishes are very special. Of course, when we went there, the taste was really good.

Luckily we booked in advance it was busy! You can choose between a more traditional afternoon tea (English style) or a local variation with Burmese cuisine. Both were amazing and generous portions. As it was our New Year we wanted to have a brewed afternoon tea which was arranged from the hotel bar as a la carte only offered us the option of "by the bottle". My only disappointment was that the pot of tea was not tea leaves but tea bags. One would think for such a classy place the tea would be of high quality. But anyway: great value for the price! Highly recommended but best to make a reservation.

Many Western tourists come here to eat, probably because this is one of the restaurants with better environment here, very clean, and the taste is also very good. The boss recommended curry chicken, which tasted very good. It’s just that their curry is a little different from Chinese, and I was not used to it at first.

Their local beer is very delicious, you must try it
