Grapes & Bites - Hostel and Wines

TORTILLA DE ‘BETANZOS’ baked egg with a lava filling, cut it open and you’ll see the filling is potato. The taste is a bit ordinary, but the egg is tender and tasty! COSTILLAS DE CORDERO lamb rack ~ This must be praised, I love the chestnut cream sauce underneath, it’s absolutely amazing!

When we arrived at Bairro Alto, the bar district in Lisbon, we saw a shop with a good atmosphere and went in. The shop is called "Grapes & Bites" and is a place for drinking wine. The bartender recommended the local red wine 'Quinta Do Mouro', and ordered a glass and a plate of sardines that the locals like to eat. It was nice to drink and listen to the singer playing guitar and singing. ​

The portions are just right and you can share them with friends as a snack. There is a good selection of wines and if you are unsure just ask the waiter. There is a nice display of wines on the wall.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and bright. It didn't cost a lot of money, and it included breakfast in addition to the room rate, which was totally worth it because of the great location.

I found the staff to be excellent, the wine selection to be excellent, and the food to be very affordable and well worth the money you spend. We always come back to try some of the very well made works of art and the food is always a pleasant surprise.
