Alice Springs Desert Park

Alice Springs Desert Park

A bit like Noah's Ark, this desert park brings together all the animals of central Australia and puts them in convenient locations for viewing. The park is divided into desert area, sand area and forest area, and you can mingle with this vast desert and more than 120 kinds of animals and more than 350 kinds of plants that live in it by walking. There is a 1.6-kilometer walking trail in the park, which is easy and pleasant to walk. If you are lucky, you can also encounter kangaroos, wild boars and short fat wrens during the visit. The park faithfully reproduces the habitats of the animals, and the park provides helpful signboards that explain the changing seasons and how local indigenous people adapt to their natural environment and use these natural changes to plan their lives. In the nocturnal animal exhibition hall, you can observe the living conditions of nocturnal animals such as owls, bats and rodents in the dark, as well as endangered bandicoots and ghost bats. If you want to watch eagles or other raptors pounce, head over to the Nature Theater.Flynn · 3.6 km from downtown

The old telegraph office, 5 kilometers from the city, is where the name of the city of Alice Springs originated, but it is a beautiful misunderstanding. Springs doesn't mean spring, but a waterhole on the Todd River, just behind the old telegraph office. But it has already dried up. The old telegraph office had a large yard, and when you walked in, there was a horse farm, a blacksmith shop, and an old man who was beating a telegraph. The sun is very good, and the white flowers are dizzying. A man who looks very "underworld" walks around on crutches, and his style is a bit like old Marlon Brando in "The Godfather". It is not difficult to imagine what kind of important role such an organization in Alice Springs, which is so vast and sparsely populated, has played. Across time and space, it seems that you can see the person who is missing, in the sound of "click, click", send every word to people in the distance.Stuart · 758m from downtown

Alice Springs Desert Park is a large desert landscape park in Australia. Looking around here is a vast desert Gobi, but there are also many green plants and oases. You can drive an off-road vehicle in the desert and enjoy the exciting sand rush. Although it is a desert, it is not particularly dry and is still worth visiting.

I visited the Old Springs Telegraph Station on my way to Ayers Rock. I remember it being free, and there were even free barbecue grills nearby. Building this station in the wilderness was a real challenge. No one uses telegraphs anymore, let alone letters. Humanity is developing so rapidly. I hope I'll have the chance to visit again.

I have been here a few times to watch the sunset, enjoy the views of the bay and islands, and take in the area. It is easy to drive to the top, but once there it is more difficult to walk, stay on the trails to enjoy the views that are unlike any other. There are also information signs, a gift shop, and clean restrooms. This place is always crowded, so plan your visit accordingly.
