Things to do in Al Shahaniya

One of the must place to visit when you come to Doha. Another great experiences.

Established in 1998, the Faisal bin Qassim Museum is home to over 15,000 items. The museum’s superb collection features artefacts from the Jurassic age, up to the present day.  The museum contains a traditional Syrian home brought in from Damascus and recreated.  Fully furnished, it comprises of a courtyard and two living spaces, displaying beautiful tile and lattice work.  Two model Qatari homes contain items from Sheikh Faisal’s own home.  It is an intensely personal collection, illustrating the founder’s own interests and tastes, and a life rich in experience.

Absolutely loved the museum. I believe it’s a must visit while in Qatar to learn about the history of the country.

Souq Waqif is one of the best places to experience the culture of Doha. The traditional market has beautiful old-style buildings, narrow streets, and a lively atmosphere, especially in the evening. There are many shops selling spices, perfumes, handicrafts, souvenirs, and traditional clothing. I also enjoyed trying local food at the restaurants and cafés around the market. Walking through the souq was relaxing, and there was always something interesting to see. The area was clean, well maintained, and easy to explore on foot. It is a great place to take photos, buy unique gifts, and enjoy the local culture. I would definitely recommend Souq Waqif to anyone visiting Doha because it offers an authentic and memorable experience.

This is a road with great views. First of all, you can see the city skyline from afar. The Qatar Museum of Art, a masterpiece of Master Mei, is also on the seaside road. Secondly, you can run along the beach at night to enjoy the night view of the city.

The Pearl-Qatar is where luxury meets the sea. A spectacular man-made island in Doha, it is famous for its glamorous marinas, luxury yachts, designer boutiques, waterfront cafés, and elegant Mediterranean-inspired architecture.
