De Tjolomadoe is a historic sugar refinery located in Central Java, Indonesia. Built in 1861, it was designed by German architect R. Kampf and commissioned by King Mankunegaras IV. The refinery, in operation during the Dutch colonial period, was originally named "Colomadu," meaning "Mountain of Honey." In 1928, the refinery was expanded and renovated, with the introduction of new German-made equipment. In 1950, all Dutch-built sugar refineries, including Colomadu, were taken over by the Indonesian government. The refinery operated until 1998. In 2017, after 20 years of inactivity, the government decided to transform the refinery into a museum. In 2018, De Tjolomadoe officially opened as a museum, showcasing the refinery's history, architecture, and cultural heritage. Today, De Tjolomadoe serves not only as a historical site but also as a center for cultural and artistic activities, attracting numerous tourists and cultural enthusiasts.Colomadu · 17.7 km from Andong

The World Heritage Committee commented "The site was excavated from 1936 to 1941, and early hominin fossils were discovered. Later, 50 kinds of fossils were found here, including ancient giants, ape-man Homo erectus/Homo erectus, accounting for the world's known hominid. Half of the fossils. The fact that humans settled in the past 1.5 million years ago makes Sangiran one of the more important areas for understanding and studying human evolution." The latitude and longitude above is a farmland. It should be the original site where the skull was unearthed. If you need to see a museum with a skull, the name on google is: MuseumPurbakalaSangiran.
