Bahrain Fort is situated on the coastal strip of the northern shore of Bahrain Island and isthe site of a 16th-century Portuguese fort. What truly gives this site its significance is the layered remains beneath the fortress—it was once the capital of the Dilmun civilization, and the ruins of its capital city are buried deep within the mound. Walking along the excavation area, the foundations of Dilmun-era palaces, crisscrossing streets, and the remains of residential complexes unfold beneath your feet, with buildings serving residential, public, commercial, religious, and military functions layered one upon another in the soil, and some of the remaining walls still stand several meters high, making the layout of the city's defenses and streets, spanning over 4,000 years, still discernible. The perimeter of the site is surrounded by traditional date palm groves, continuing the oasis view that has existed since ancient times.Bahrain · Seef

The mosque is primarily earth tones of tan, brown, and maroon in color. There is a central outdoor courtyard and a large indoor space with a giant chandelier. You will need to take your shoes off to enter. If you like to see mosques, it’s worth a short visit.
