The white twin-towered Benedictine Abbey is a landmark building on the Tihany Peninsula in the Balaton region. Benedictine Abbey was built earlier in 1055, and only the cellar part has been preserved. In the 18th century, a Baroque church was rebuilt on the site. At the same time, there are also relevant documents on the approval of the establishment of the monastery, which are the written materials about the monastery recorded earlier in Hungarian. It is said that in the crypt of the monastery, the real body of King Andrew I, who died in 1060, is also buried. In the afternoon, we visited Hevíz, a renowned place with the world's second largest thermal lake—a tranquil and beautiful place. Initially, I thought it would be a simple soak in the hot springs, but upon arrival, I was truly captivated by its serenity and lush beauty. We enjoyed the therapeutic effects of the hot springs, strolled through the town in the evening, and finally had a sumptuous Western-style buffet—a truly fulfilling day.

The Benedictine Monastery and Museum is a great place to learn about Hungarian history. The interior of the monastery is very gorgeous, and there is an observation deck outside that overlooks Lake Balaton and the sunset over Balaton. The scenery is very charming.
