Cathedral of Brasília

Cathedral of Brasília was designed by master architect Oscar Niemeyer and is almost the opposite of what people typically imagine when they think of churches in Europe. It lacks towering spires and heavy walls. The main structure is entirely underground, with only the crown-like dome, the egg-shaped baptistery roof, and a bell tower visible above ground. The 16 curved concrete columns converge upward to support the glass dome, resembling both a pair of hands reaching toward the sky and, from a distance, a crown. Completed in 1970, the cathedral has witnessed the city's journey from being built on the plateau according to blueprints to being designated as a World Heritage Site.Brasilia · 1.8 km from downtown

Brasília National Park is located in the northwest of the Federal District, approx. 10 km from the city center, and is a protected area adjacent to the capital, characterized by the Cerrado tropical savanna ecosystem. Because of the many springs in the park, it is known by locals as the Mineral Water Park, and it is also an important water conservation area for the Federal District. Public activities are concentrated in the open area where the swimming pools and trails are located, which also happens to be a window into the typical vegetation of central-western Brazil. The park's characteristic view consists of several natural mineral water pools distributed along the stream and continuously replenished by spring water. They originated from sand pits left behind before the city was built, and the pool water is crystal clear.Brasilia · 16.8 km from downtown

The Blue Church is a Catholic church with a blue body, which is eye-catching. The name of the church comes from the name of a priest at the end of the nineteenth century. The Italian-born priest Dom Bosco had a dream in 1883 that a city shaped like a bird would be built in the central plateau of Brazil, which would become the center of Brazil. The place is Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, where the church is located.Brasilia · 460m from downtown

Near the square are the Brasilia History Museum, the Temple and other buildings. The Parliament House is located next to the short bus terminal in the square. In the middle is a 28-storey building. On the right side of the square is the House of Lords with an inverted bowl-shaped roof, while the House of Commons is on the left, with a roof like a dinner plate. The two buildings complement each other. Works by Oscar Nière Mayer. The Grand Presidential Palace is located behind the Congress Hall. This palace composed of glass curtain walls is called the "Palace on the Plateau"; in front is the statue of labor soldiers, which is used to commemorate those who have worked hard for the construction of Brazil. There is a fountain in the front square, and next to the fountain is a statue of a lady without an eye expression. He was dubbed the "blind judge," a metaphor for unfair judgments and a warning to law enforcement officers to uphold justice.Brasilia · 3.3 km from downtown
