Mekong River Delta
Mekong River Delta is located in southern Vietnam and is the final stretch of the Mekong River before it flows into the sea. The Mekong River is a vital transnational waterway in Asia, flowing through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam; upon entering Vietnam, it is known as the Nine Dragon River. The river spreads across the plains into a crisscrossing network of channels and canals, creating a fertile land of fish and rice. Leaving the wide main channel, you can transfer to a narrower sampan and venture into small waterways shaded by coconut and banana groves, listening to the oars cutting through the water as you slowly explore deep into the dense forest; you can also go ashore to walk into an orchard to pick and eat fresh tropical fruit, or stop by to see how handmade rice paper and rice noodles are made, sheet by sheet.
