You can feed seagulls while on the boat. I saw many people bringing large sausages, so I asked them out of curiosity. It was our first time here, and we hadn't done any research, so we didn't know. However, I did manage to take pictures of others feeding the seagulls, so it's kind of an activity. The island gets quite hot in the summer, so you can easily explore in half a day. Liugong Island, as a key coastal defense location, was the main battlefield of the First Sino-Japanese War. The island's museum is worth visiting, especially for children learning about history. There's still a naval presence there, so photography is prohibited in some areas.
The island has an extremely high forest coverage rate and is the first marine forest park in China. It's home to wild sika deer and also has a giant panda enclosure. It's mainly too hot in the summer; other seasons are better for exploring. Bring plenty of food and enjoy your visit at a leisurely pace.
There are vending machines on the island where you can buy drinks. There's also a hidden little supermarket further inside; locals often buy their drinks there at more affordable prices.
