Good overall experience for someone who wants to see a lot in one day. However, There could be a more focused version of this trip offered with only the Ananuri, lunch, Friendship monument and the Gergetti church as stopping points. The lunch could also be pre ordered when everyone gets in the van at the beginning of the trip to make this a faster process. roughly 1 hour could have been saved by not stopping at the first stop and the two rivers, as well as cutting lunch by 30 minutes. More time at the important sights add a lot more value to this trip.

We went north up to the mountains. Kazbegi is a very popular place with locals when they want to excape the summer heat. The drive was very scenic and didn't seem to be that long. I see other reviews complain about the drive but the roads are good and you pass a variety of mountain valleys and green hills, it was a very nice ride. Lika was my guide and did a great job of explaining everything. She also had a lot of local insights into the area and was good company. This is a great day trip out of Tbilisi and well worth investing a day from your intinerary to see this part of the country.


