Reviews: Okinawa central and northern bus one-day tour: Churaumi Aquarium + Kouri Island + Cape Manzamo + American Village

On my first solo trip to Okinawa, I spent most of my time exploring attractions accessible by the Naha Monorail. But since I was in Okinawa, I figured I had to visit the famous tourist spots, so I booked a day trip through Trip.com for the central and northern Okinawa area. I visited the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, a must-see, and encountered amazing whale sharks, adorable manatees, and leisurely sea turtles. I also visited Cape Manzamo and took photos with my favorite elephant-shaped rock, feeling like I was fulfilling a wish! And then I soaked up the Christmas atmosphere at the American Village, with its American style and vibrant colors! A very fulfilling day trip!

We went to the aquarium even though the advertisement said the botanical garden. The guide didn't speak English even though it said she did 🤷🏻‍♂️ Otherwise, it was a great tour!

The stalactite cave was really great, but the animal cruelty during the snake show was absolutely unacceptable.

Amazing to be able to discover so much of Okinawa within a day. Enough time to see every spot on the trip (unless you REALLY need to see every single thing). Great price for value without a doubt. 100% recommend
Reviews: Okinawa: Bus Tour to Yanbaru National Park and Kouri Island
Guest User2026-02-22
I especially enjoyed Cape Hedo and the spiritual hike. Unfortunately, we had very little time at Cape Hedo and Kouri Island. There was barely enough time for a few photos and a bathroom break. We watched a film at the Yanbaru Visitor Center; I would have preferred to see the real forest right next door. We stopped far too often at places that were only there for souvenir shopping, which unnecessarily lengthened the trip, leaving even less time for the actual sights. The bus was comfortable, and the audio guide was very informative. The two tour guides spoke some English and were very friendly and helpful.

The Navy Underground Headquarters was a great and unique experience. The museum provides a lot of information on the Battle of Okinawa in both Japanese and English. They also have a collection of historical items found in the tunnels on display. My friends and I enjoyed are time here and we felt it was very educational. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking to visit a few historical sites while in Okinawa.
