Itinerary overview:
1-day tour to explore the breathtaking Tierra del Fuego with the opportunity to observe king penguins. In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Punta Arenas (city center) to begin the journey. Sail across the Strait of Magellan (ferry) to the destination of Porvenir town in Tierra del Fuego, with a sailing time of approx. 2 hours. After arriving on the island, visit Porvenir town and stop for lunch there. Then proceed to the king penguin nature reserve, where you will have the chance to see the majestic king penguins, the second-largest penguin species in the world. The visit lasts about 1 hour. Continue to Cape Delgada in the Strait of Magellan for a second sailing (estimated time 30 minutes). Visit the historical site, Estancia San Gregorio, a ranch dating back to 1878. Afterwards, return to Punta Arenas.
There are 3 itineraries to choose from, which may vary depending on ferry schedules, park visiting hours, and weather conditions.
Route 1: Punta Arenas - Porvenir - King penguin nature reserve - Punta Delgada - San Gregorio - Punta Arenas.
Route 2: Punta Arenas - San Gregorio - Punta Delgada - Cerro Sombrero - King penguin nature reserve - Porvenir - Punta Arenas.
Route 3: Punta Arenas - San Gregorio - Punta Delgada - Cerro Sombrero - King penguin natural reserve - Punta Delgada - Punta Arenas.
Please note: Before signing up, please check if there are available seats on your desired route. Due to weather conditions, the itinerary may be adjusted. In addition, the start and end times of the itinerary may also change. If you have other transportation arrangements that night, such as a bus or flight, we do not recommend joining this trip.
