Attractions and Activities: Lagunas Altiplanicas (Ticket included) Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons The Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons are sister lagoons and known as “Altiplanic Lagoons”, formed by groundwater from melting snow from the Miscanti hill and the Miñiques volcano. Attractions and Activities: Iglesia de Socaire (Free entry) Socaire is a Lickanantay indigenous community, whose territory articulates different ecological levels. That is why the subsistence of our people complements livestock, traditional agriculture and its secondary products. Socaire Church The church of San Bartolomé is part of the historical heritage of Socaire. San Bartolomé is the patron saint of shepherds and also of those who work the skins, manufacture or use leather, gloves, coats, belts and boots, his festival is celebrated every August 24. Attractions and Activities: Laguna Chaxa (Ticket included) In the town of Toconao, belonging to the commune of San Pedro de Atacama, Antofagasta region, is the Chaxa lagoon, the central point of the Salar de Atacama. This sector is located within the Los Flamencos National Reserve. The reserve stands out for the protection of species such as the tuco tuco of the puna, culpeo fox, puma, large parina, Chilean flamingo, small parina, vicuña and guanaco.
