This is a full-day excursion that departs from the city of El Calafate, considered the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park.
It can be booked with or without hotel transfer, depending on your preference. Both options offer a unique combination of hiking and boating.
If you choose the option with transportation, you will enjoy a comfortable trip from your accommodation in El Calafate to Puerto Bajo las Sombras, located just 7 km from the iconic glacier walkways. Otherwise, you will need to make your own way to the port and arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
From Puerto Bajo las Sombras, we board a boat to cross the Brazo Rico of Lake Argentino on a short 20-minute boat ride, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
Upon reaching the opposite shore, we all begin a guided hike of approximately an hour and a half along natural trails. The route passes through a lush Patagonian forest and skirts the lake shore until we reach the southern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. This is one of the most impressive moments of the excursion: seeing its imposing shapes and blue colors up close and hearing the creaking and calving of ice. During the trip, expert tour guides will share fascinating facts about the history, formation, and dynamics of the glacier.
After the walk, you will return to the boat for a final cruise in front of the glacier. This part of the experience allows you to observe the ice wall from a different perspective, just a few meters away, appreciating unique details and incredible textures that can only be seen from the water.
If you have booked the excursion with transportation, the vehicle will then take you to the famous glacier walkways, where you will have approximately two hours free to explore at your own pace. These structures offer exceptional panoramic views from different angles and heights.
It is important to note that the entrance fee to Los Glaciares National Park is not included in the tour price and must be paid separately at the park entrance.
Food and drinks are also not included, so we recommend bringing a packed lunch, snacks, water, and everything else you need for the day. In addition, it is essential to wear comfortable, waterproof clothing, hiking shoes, and accessories such as gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
The Blue Safari is not just a tour, but a transformative experience in contact with one of the most impressive natural wonders of Argentine Patagonia. Immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the south, feel the energy of the glacier, and live an unforgettable adventure. Book now and discover the power of nature at its best!
