Discover the gems hidden in the tunnels of the Mines of Wanda. An unforgettable experience for all ages.
The immeasurable beauty of Minas de Wanda is close to Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and about 45 kilometers from the border with Foz do Iguaçu.
The mines were created by volcanic lava spills thousands of years ago. The boiling lava generated balls of air in the rocks, which crystallized to create the variety of stones and colors.
There are five mines that visitors can access during the tour. There you can find emeralds, rubies, amethysts, agates, topazes (yellow, blue, brown), pink rock crystals, Venus crystal, aquamarine, among other species. The set has no less than 52 varieties.
Visitors can also take a closer look at extraction in the open air and in caves. In some cases the work takes more than a year, as the artisanal handling requires great care due to the fragility of the treasures.
A collection of local species is on display at the Stone Museum. The park has specialized stores where you can buy raw or worked samples.
