Take a ferry to Robben Island, where former South African President Nelson Mandela was held as a political prisoner for 18 years. See his prison cell, learn about the dramatic history of the island, and take a historical walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela on the Long March to Freedom.

Arrive at Victoria and Alfred Waterfront 30 minutes in advance before ferry departure. Remember to carry a copy of your ID or passport, however, it could be a digital copy as your Robben Island ticket will be sent through digitally. Embark on the ferry at Nelson Mandela Gateway to the Island – the boat trip will be 30 minutes each way.
