Sahara Desert spans across multiple North African countries and is one of the world's largest sandy deserts. Rolling sand dunes create wave-like patterns, with black volcanic rock formations scattered throughout. The rock walls preserve prehistoric hunting murals and petroglyphs, documenting ecological changes and human activity from thousands of years ago. The unique climate has shaped a distinct ecosystem, where drought-resistant plants, fennec foxes, desert lizards, and other animals thrive. Oases, sustained by underground water veins, are scattered along the desert's edge, where villages surrounded by palm groves preserve traditional mud-brick architecture, and nomadic peoples maintain their traditional way of life alongside camels. Travelers can experience desert camping, observe the Milky Way under a night sky with minimal light pollution, or explore desert fossils and geological views.Errachidia Province · >100 km from downtown

Merzouga Desert is located in southeastern Morocco and is a representative tourist destination in the Sahara Desert, famous for its rolling golden sand dunes and magnificent natural scenery. The sand dunes here are towering and continuous, with some reaching over 100 m in height. Years of wind erosion have formed beautiful sand ridges and delicate textures that resemble ocean waves. Standing on top of the dunes and looking out, the vast sea of sand stretches to the horizon, making one feel the magnificence and tranquility of nature. In the early morning, the first rays of sunlight spill onto the dunes, dyeing the originally quiet sea of sand a warm golden yellow. In the evening, as the sun sets, the dunes gradually take on orange-red and rose-gold hues, with light and shadow constantly changing as the sun moves, like a natural work of art. Therefore, it attracts many photography enthusiasts who come to capture the unique beauty of the desert.Merzouga · 2.1 km from downtown

Located in southeastern Morocco, the Ziz Gorge is one of the country's more spectacular natural landscapes, attracting many tourists with its majestic landforms and rich cultural history. The canyon was cut by the Ziz River, which flows out of the Atlas Mountains, winds through the desert, and finally merges into the Sahara Desert. This geographical feature not only creates the magnificent landscape of the canyon, but also forms an oasis along the river, providing an important living resource for local residents. The canyon is flanked by steep cliffs and colorful rocks. Under the sunlight, it presents a charming light and shadow effect, with various tones such as red, orange, and brown intertwined, like a natural oil painting. The canyon is long and winding. Walking along the canyon, you can enjoy the various shapes of rocks, some of which are like swords piercing the sky, and some are like giant beasts crouching and watching. At the bottom of the canyon, the Ziz River flows, bringing vitality and vitality to this arid land.Errachidia Province · 44.9 km from downtown

This was an incredible trip. There are a number of travel groups that don’t only take you to the desert, but have a number of stops that show a number of great spots in Morocco. However, this is definitely the highlight of Morocco. A must do if you decide to visit the country.
