Reviews: Sheep World Country Tour from Auckland

This was definitely an amazing tour made even more amazing by our wonderful tour guide Janine, who did everything to ensure we had the most wonderful experience.
We started at the Domain Wintergardens which are so compact and beautiful and the photos you can take there are amazing.
We then visited Sheep World Tour which is run by women. We got to watch a live demonstration of how the sheep are hearded up and sheared. We also got to feed all the animals which was incredibly special.
From there Janine organised us a wine tasting and lunch at Omaha Bay Winery which was perfect for the size group we had. It was intimate and we enjoyed a delicious antipasto platter.
We then went and sampled chocolates and honey from around the area which was awesome and everyone bought lots of things.
We also visited Parry Kauri and went for a walk in the rainforest which was mystical and beautiful.
So I would definitely recommend this tour, and if you are truly lucky you will get Janine.

The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable. The hotel is a very good hotel for the guests and the hotel is very good for the guests. Despite the rainy winter we were happy.
However, you can use comfortable shoes to walk in the forest.★

Grant was a great guide - he shared a lot about New Zealand and Auckland along the ride to and from Hobbiton. He was charismatic, friendly, and engaging but at the same time, provided space and wasn’t one of those guides who talked every minute of the experience which I appreciate. The hobbiton tour itself was a lot of fun - the guide we had was fun and full of info. Even having never seen any of the movies, I left having learned some interesting things and am glad I did the tour.★

Gorgeous countryside viewing on the 2hr trip to the caves. Our guide and driver Matty was informative & friendly. The caves, whilst fascinating, was let down a little as you are not allowed to take any photos inside. You have the obligatory photo before entering the cave and they superimpose you onto images that you can purchase at the end of the tour. The glow worms and the cave system was interesting but I was expecting a lot more to be honest. I would rate the caves 7 out of 10.
A one hour drive across to Hobbiton and wow! This is the most professional and well-run tourist attraction. It is such a magical part of the world and during lambing season. It was just so gorgeous. The actual movie set itself is otherworldly and surreal and you feel you are on a different planet. I would rate this tour a 10 out of 10. our guide, James was amazing . I cannot fault this tour at all. Long day but very well organised.
