The tour was very well organized, from pickup to the guide, and everything seemed to run like a well-oiled machine. There are plenty of tour operators in Flores offering the same experience, and I noticed that people who booked through other companies ended up on the same tour as well, so you can likely find cheaper options. However, booking in advance was worth it for me, as I wanted everything arranged before landing and wanted to avoid the hassle of figuring things out after arrival. Yaxha is much smaller in scale compared to Tikal, but we practically had the park to ourselves, making it a much quieter and more peaceful experience. The sunset was beautiful, and being able to climb a couple of pyramids and enjoy the views made it worthwhile. I’d recommend visiting Yaxha if you have an extra day beyond Tikal. In fact, I’d suggest doing Yaxha before Tikal so the experience feels incremental, with Tikal saving the best for last!
