Our company organized a trip to Qiandao Lake, choosing a 2-day private car tour through Ctrip. On Sunday, due to some rain, there were very few people in the forest oxygen bar. The mountain's altitude was moderate, suitable for city dwellers who lack exercise. Along the way, clear springs flowed intermittently, and the forest air was crystal clear. The next day, we went rafting at Jinfeng, with a maximum drop of nearly 30 meters – very thrilling! Everyone got completely soaked from head to toe, so remember to bring a change of clothes!
We stayed at the Runhe Jianguo Hotel in a sea-view room. The view was beautiful, and the hotel's dining was reasonably priced. Highly recommended! We've already decided this will be our first choice for our next family trip.★

Overall, I was satisfied. However, the itinerary might feel a bit rushed if you have elderly people or children with you, and there's a risk of traffic jams on the way back to Beijing. Note: There are two cable car stations at Mutianyu, and they are not affiliated. Tickets are not interchangeable. I recommend taking the upper one, as the exit is on the 14th floor, which is closer to the summit. However, you'll need to climb a bit more to get back up to the upper cable car station.Trip.com picks
