It rained for2.5 hours at the beginning of the walk, and the free activities 3.5 hours only stopped for the last hour. The bus returned to the day was clear, and there was a lack of luck.

I don't think I can really convey how awesome our tour was. it all starts with the guide and driver, our guide Endo was the most sincere and knowledgeable local who invited us into his part of the world with open arms. we were lucky enough to have only the 2 of us on tour so it was really personal. the temple/town was incredible with such strong history of peace and war, the hike was unreal "very easy" fyi. but what a beautiful part of the world. thank you Endo for an incredible time, wish to see you again

We had a wonderful relaxing afternoon spent with our guide Matsu. He was very courteous and provided us with lots of information about the area and the sites we were seeing. He also saved us over an hour waiting in line time by purchasing tokens that allowed us to walk right in to Matsumoto Castle. We tasted sake made on site by a family that has been making it there for 300 years using the spring water that comes out right at their front door. We also walked down Frog Street and a food vendors street. In addition we visited a 500 year old former Samurai house and a Shinto shrine with a temple. Highly recommend this tour.

Thanks to our guide Naomi for showing us around Matsumoto castle and the town. Naomi was very friendly and gave us lots of information about the area. We were her only guests for the afternoon so Naomi was prepared to adapt the trip to our needs however we just went with her recommended route/tour. Bringing slippers to the castle to keep our feet warm was a nice touch. Naomi took us to the JR ticket office at the station to make sure we had the correct tickets back to Nagano.


