A huge thank you to our guide, Mr. Yang, for his thoughtful explanations of every attraction along the way. Although it rained a bit, I'm still very grateful for his attentive care and patient explanations. I highly recommend him!

Reviews: Ibaraki Hitachi Seaside Park + Kamiiso no Torii + Nakaminato Fish Market Flower Sea 1-day tour
Guest User2026-10-19
We departed on the last day of Japan's three-day holiday, and it was incredibly crowded. I only contacted customer service the night before departure and, knowing there were still spots available, signed up for a group of two. I'm very grateful to customer service for replying so late. After paying and confirming the departure time and location, I hung up and went to sleep. The next morning, I learned that customer service and the tour leader had contacted me later to say the departure time had been moved up. Luckily, I'm an early riser, so I didn't miss it. We originally planned to eat at the fish market, but the crowds were terrifying. After waiting in line for half an hour and seeing how slowly they served the food, we decided to give up and bought some snacks to eat on the bus instead. If you're joining this tour, it's best to avoid traveling during Japanese public holidays. Also, a fellow tour member was late, but the tour leader decided to depart on time. So, everyone, please be punctual if you're on a tour. (At this point, I'm still glad I gave up after waiting in line for almost half an hour). Finally, the most important destination of the tour, the Hitachi Seaside Park, had very red broom grass – definitely worth it. Here, I would like to thank the tour leader and driver again. Because of the huge traffic jam on the way there, they didn't cut our sightseeing time too much. On the way back, there was also a huge traffic jam, and they were late getting off work. Finally, here are some photos of the crowded fish market. The red flowers in the photos taken at the foot of the hill aren't as vibrant; those on the hill are very red. (All photos were taken with a phone and have not been edited in any way.)
