Always accompanied by our guide Sery, we traveled today to the heart of the Ribera Valley, from Barca to a refreshing waterfall where we enjoyed a refreshing walk. We observed the local flora and fauna, including baobab trees, monkeys, and fruit trees. We ended our visit at a unique rum distillery where we received a very warm welcome. A morning full of discoveries, a big thank you to the very welcoming Mama Louisa. It's a shame we didn't get to try our hand at making flour. A pretty fishing village with magnificent murals. The banana plantation was a pleasant place to visit. Katia, our guide, and the driver were always available to answer our questions and were very kind and friendly.

We had a wonderful morning in the Santiago Valley. Our guide, Antonio, was very engaging, and we had a fantastic time with him. His explanations about the history, nature, and culture of Cape Verde were incredibly informative! We saw lush green landscapes, monkeys, enormous baobab trees several dozen meters tall, and the very first village in the country, established by the Portuguese. The visit to the family distillery and the eco-friendly production methods of rum (Grogu) was also a great experience. We highly recommend this activity if you're ever in Praia!
