I checked Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) for Kota Kinabalu island hopping tours and heard that the company "Round Beach Love" was the most expensive, but I still chose them in the end. They really have a reason for the higher price; the staff were very enthusiastic, the one-hour boat ride was enjoyable, I didn't feel seasick at all, and we arrived in no time. The young men were very friendly and observed the guests' moods to create a lively atmosphere, making you completely forget about seasickness. Although we didn't get to ride the popular No. 5 boat, we rode No. 6, which was also a lot of fun.
The lunch on the beach was very good, and you can get refills if you're still hungry. My kids went back for crab twice, and it was delicious both times.
There were two snorkeling spots, and it cost 50 MYR per person for a photo shoot. There was no tipping required on the islands. The young men would bring bread to attract small fish for you to take photos, which was very nice 👍. The seawater was absolutely beautiful; the photos perfectly captured the joy of the moment. The bubble party was also a lot of fun, and the kids had a great time. I would definitely go again next time I'm in Kota Kinabalu 👍★

My day trip to Mount Kinabalu was the happiest day of my trip to Kota Kinabalu! I've seen many beautiful oceans around the world, but a tropical rainforest is a rare treat. It was a wonderful and enriching day. Our guide, Ali, was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive. I was traveling alone, and he took great care of me throughout the entire trip! The Mount Kinabalu viewpoint was breathtaking, the ATV experience was thrilling, the search for Rafflesia flowers was fascinating, the fruit market was delicious, and the dairy farm was absolutely stunning—it felt like a Malaysian version of Xinjiang! The roasted pork on the way down the mountain was also amazing! A visit to Mount Kinabalu is a must when in Kota Kinabalu; with the ocean on one side and the rainforest on the other, it was an unforgettable experience.★

Xiao Yong, the customer service representative, helped with the arrangements, and overall it was very good. The instructor led five people, and we communicated in basic English. We met at 4:30, and after everyone arrived, we received our equipment and got a brief explanation. We set off on the boat around 5:00. We were all beginners, and the boats were connected together. The instructor rowed from the front. Although it was supposed to be a stand-up oar, I didn't have the courage to stand up the whole time. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't good, and we didn't see the fiery sunset. At the end, Instructor Miko (I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling) took a set of beautiful photos for us on the shore.Trip.com picks
