Have a meal and watch a performance at the Traditional Arts Center. You can enjoy it even if you don't know Taiwanese, and try a tasting at the Kavalan Distillery. Also, in Jiaoxi, instead of going to the hot springs, buy bread at the attached place; it is like the Taiwanese equivalent of Sungsimdang.

Convenient and fast, with frequent departures, approximately every 20 minutes. It's quite good on weekdays as there's a direct route and traffic isn't usually congested. Weekends are not recommended. You need to exchange your ticket on the first floor and then go to the fourth floor to board the bus.

I bought this for my trip to Taiwan. It's a round-trip train ticket (actually a token) from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station. I was able to exchange it at an exchange counter near Taoyuan Airport Station just by showing the voucher, so I didn't need to speak any language, which was great. I also received a coupon, but I didn't know how to use it, so I didn't use it.
