Jieyang Confucius Temple was first built in the 10th year of the Shaoxing reign of the Southern Song Dynasty. Since then, it has been repaired many times throughout history, with its current layout primarily established during the major renovations in the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty. As the official school and place for Confucius worship in ancient Jieyang, the entire complex is divided into central, eastern, and western sections: the central section is the Confucius Temple, while the eastern and western sections were the former county school and auxiliary buildings. With over 100 rooms and covering an area of approx. 20,000 square meters, it is of considerable scale among similar ancient architectural complexes in Lingnan. Enter the courtyard from the spirit wall inscribed with "Taihe Yuanqi" and the Lingxing Gate, cross the Panchi Pool, and you will arrive at the Dacheng Hall, the core of the entire complex. Inside the hall, there is a statue of Confucius, and behind it are buildings such as the Chongsheng Shrine and Zunjing Pavilion. It's inside the hotel; just turn left after entering. The service was generally good, except for the young lady in the rest area who was a little less attentive; the other staff were very friendly. However, it got quite crowded in the afternoon, which negatively impacted the experience. It's uncomfortable to soak in a small pool surrounded by two or three groups of strangers.

Watching the sea of clouds from the top of the mountain is like entering a fairyland, with peaks stacked one on top of the other, and all the other mountains are small. It is worth a visit.
The service quality is poor, and small cars are not allowed to drive to the climbing point, so you have to walk two more kilometers.

First of all, the attractions in Jieyang are all very close together. You can probably see everything in a day. The Jieyang Confucian Temple is a must-see. Nearby are the City God Temple, Shuangfeng Temple, Jinxian Gate, the museum, etc. So you can use this as a starting point to begin your Jieyang trip. The Jieyang Confucian Temple is one of the three major Confucian temples in Guangdong, and it's closed on Mondays!
