Ézaro waterfall

Ézaro waterfall

4.1
Ézaro waterfall is located in Dumbría, in the Galicia region of Spain, near the coastal town of Ézaro. The waterfall creates a unique landscape where the Xallas River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. This waterfall is unique as one of the few in Europe where a river flows directly into the sea. Water cascades down from cliffs tens of meters high, instantly meeting the ocean waves to create spectacular mist and white spray, which is especially impressive at high tide. The area surrounding the waterfall is known for its cliffs, rock faces, and mossy surfaces that remain moist year-round. Trails and viewing platforms lead visitors to the confluence of the coastline and the river mouth, offering multiple angles for photography. The usual way to visit is by car or by joining a local day tour. Visitors can park in the village of Ézaro and then walk along the wooden boardwalks and viewing platforms near the river mouth to admire the waterfall as it meets the sea. Whether you are a nature lover or a photography enthusiast, this place is a must-see natural wonder in Galicia, thanks to its unique geographical and marine confluence.Comarca de Muros · 12.1 km from Fisterra

Fisterra

3
Fistra is located in the Comarca de Fisterra region of the La Coruña Province of the Galician Autonomous Region of Spain. It is one of the famous "ends of the world" in Europe. Its name comes from the Latin "Finis Terrae", which means "the end of the land". The ancient Romans believed that this was the end of the world. This fishing village is located on the cape at the western end of the Iberian Peninsula, backed by the Atlantic Ocean. It is famous for its magnificent coastline, steep cliffs and mysterious pilgrimage culture. As the extension of the Camino de Santiago, Fisterra has carried a deep religious significance since the Middle Ages. After arriving in Santiago, pilgrims often continue to travel west here, wash their bodies at the Lobster Beach, pray at the Church of Santa Maria in Arelas, and burn clothes at the "0 km" sign on the cape, symbolizing the end of the journey and rebirth. In terms of natural landscape, the lighthouse at Cape Fisterra is a landmark building that guides the direction of ships sailing on the "Coast of Death". Fisterra combines the primitive beliefs of the Celts, Christian culture and the wild power of nature, becoming a unique destination with both a sense of history and visual impact.Spain · Fisterra
