Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji, which means "volcano" in Japanese, spans Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures. This mountain, regarded as the "Holy Mt." by the Japanese, has been dormant since its eruption in 1707. This dormant volcano is a symbol of Japan. Of course, if you want to experience the natural scenery of Mt. Fuji and its surroundings up close, the Fuji Five Lakes area under the northern mountain of Mt. Fuji is a good choice. The reflection of Mt. Fuji in Kawaguchi Lake is a very classic scene, it is worth seeing, the nearby Oshino Hachi The sea is also famous. Peace Park in the southeast is a good choice for viewing Mount Fuji. On a sunny day and there is no cloud cover, you can clearly see the conical peak of Mount Fuji. In autumn and winter, you can also see the snow on the top of the mountain, which is particularly beautiful. Every year from mid-September to mid-October, the top of Mount Fuji begins to snow, and it will not melt until around June of the following year, and the residual snow can even be seen in mid-July. You can climb Mount Fuji in July and August, and the mountain will be closed in other seasons. There are four main mountain climbing entrances on Mount Fuji, namely Fujinomiyaguchi, Sugoguchi, Gotembaguchi, and Fujiyoshida (Kawaguchiko) entrance. The first three are all in Shizuoka Prefecture. It is divided into 10 stages from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. Each stage is called a "station", and there is a place for tourists to rest. Most tourists take the bus from Lake Kawaguchi to the fifth station of Mount Fuji on the middle of the mountain, and then start from here. mountaineering. Climbing to the top of Mount Fuji, you can see a beautiful volcanic lake formed by two craters, surrounded by 8 peaks. Along the crater tour, there is a weather station, which is the commanding height of Japan. You may wish to take a group photo. There are two shrines, namely Kusushi Shrine and Sengen Shrine. There is also a post office on the top of the mountain, where you can send a postcard to friends and relatives. . In addition, watching the sunrise on Mount Fuji will be an unforgettable and beautiful experience. In addition to Mount Fuji itself, the scenery around the mountain is also very good. There are caves left after the volcanic eruption at the northern foot of the mountain, with various shapes and shapes, and some of them will continue to exhale. Among them, the walls of the Fuyue Feng Cave are covered with stalactite-like icicles, which are called "Wannianxue". The southern foothills is a vast plateau pasture with beautiful scenery all year round, and there are many places for leisure activities, such as camping, swimming and fishing in summer, and skiing and skating in winter.Fujinomiya · 19.7 km from Gotemba

The large glass windows of the Swiss-made gondola offer a 360-degree view of Hakone, making it hard to believe that this place is only a few hours from Tokyo. The station on the way is Owakudani Station, which is a well-known hot spring area where you can still see traces of volcanic activity in addition to overlooking Mount Fuji. The Hakone Ropeway is designed to be barrier-free, both in the carriages and at the station. Along the way, you can pass by Owakudani and Laozi, and you can get a bird's-eye view of the forest between Soun Mountain and Taoyuantai by Lake Ashi. At the heights between Soun Mountain and Dawong Valley, the cable car is 130 meters above the ground. The huge crater can be seen below, which is breathtaking. As you get closer to Umako and Togendai, you can see the panoramic view of Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji behind Mount Kinabalu and the four seasons from the cable car.Hakone · 10.2 km from Gotemba

Owakudani is a volcanic vent zone formed by Hakone volcanic activity approx. 3,000 years ago, with brown and yellow rocks exposed on the slopes, white steam constantly rising from springs and fumaroles, and the air filled with the scent of sulfur. It is also an important source for Hakone hot springs, where you can still see active geothermal phenomena today. There is an observation deck near the cable car station, from which you can see Mount Fuji and Mt. Kamiyama on clear days. The Kuro-tamago-kan showcases the process of making "black eggs" using hot spring water and geothermal steam, where the eggshells turn black due to a chemical reaction with the hot spring components, and there is a local legend that eating one can extend your life by seven years. The facility also includes a souvenir shop. The Owakudani Nature Trail is approx. 700m long, allowing you to observe the volcanic vent zone up close and learn about the volcanic geology through information boards along the way. The observation deck at the end of the trail offers views of the Hakone mountains and Mount Fuji.Hakone · 10.8 km from Gotemba

Oshino hakkai

Oshino hakkai is a cluster of spring ponds formed by snowmelt and rainwater from Mount Fuji that seeps underground and is filtered through lava layers over many years. Legend has it that when Mount Fuji erupted, lava flows altered the local water system, causing the ancient lake to gradually recede and leaving behind only these perennial springs. The eight ponds are scattered throughout the village. The water is exceptionally clear; even at a depth of several meters, you can see straight to the bottom, and the fine bubbles rising from the bed and the swimming fish are clearly visible. Among them, Wakuike Pond is known for its large water volume and deep blue color, while Kagamiike Pond often reflects an inverted Mount Fuji on windless mornings, making it a distinctive spot for photography. Watermills and old houses with thatched roofs are scattered among the spring ponds, creating a typical landscape of a village at the foot of Mount Fuji. The local cuisine also relies on this spring water. Tofu made with the spring water has a delicate texture and can be enjoyed with seasoning, while soba and udon noodles made from flour ground by watermills are also local specialties.Oshino · 19.2 km from Gotemba

They also have private baths available, so be sure to use them with your family or friends. Soaking in a bath while gazing at the magnificent nature of Hakone is sure to relax both your mind and body. The dome, which depicts the Mediterranean sky, can be visited anytime without worrying about the weather. How about spending a luxurious day relaxing in a hot spring while enjoying the view of the Hakone outer rim mountains? I'd love to try a wine bath at least once! Chose to visit the Mount Fuji Instagram-famous spots on Trip.com's recommendation, and I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. The itinerary included memorable locations such as Arakurayama Sengen Park, Hikawa Clock Shop, Oshino Hakkai, Kawaguchiko Lawson, and Lake Kawaguchi Oishi Park—each offering its own breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji. Our tour guide (Hikari) truly made the trip special: not only was he friendly, but he was also impressively patient throughout the day, making sure everyone felt comfortable and had enough time to enjoy each spot. The pace of the tour was just right, allowing for leisurely sightseeing and ample opportunities for taking photos—perfect for capturing those Instagram-worthy moments! If you're considering this day trip, I recommend bringing your camera and a light jacket, as weather around Mt. Fuji can change. The service from Trip.com was smooth and easy, making the whole experience stress-free.

Watch the whole video. Japanese commentary. Bring the kids to experience it and he feels it is very fresh. You must book the tickets in advance. I thought I would buy the tickets on the day, but I accidentally saw that there was a ticket here and wanted to book it in advance. At that time, it showed that there were only 3 tickets for noon on a certain day in my itinerary in the week before and after, and the others were all booked.

Mt. Fuji Day - Everything went incredibly smoothly! I went out to catch the pre-booked bus to Mt. Fuji. I had allowed plenty of time because the travel guides said the boarding point was particularly difficult to find, but it turned out to be very close to my hotel; I just turned the corner and arrived! [Applause] After boarding, I found my seat was in the first row, with an unobstructed view of the bus window right in front of me! [Wink] Probably due to the excellent visibility around Mt. Fuji, there was absolutely no traffic that day. I woke up to find Mt. Fuji completely unobstructed before my eyes! [Please] So happy... A year ago, I watched Keko's "Neon Legend with Shoji" and was instantly captivated by the Mt. Fuji cycling experience... I included it as a must-do on this trip, and God was really kind to me, allowing me to fulfill my dream without any regrets TT I cycled along, stopping frequently, and randomly grabbed many people to take photos for me. Surprisingly, this shrine wasn't mentioned in the travel guides for Lake Yamanaka. I found it on the map myself and went to visit it; it's absolutely gorgeous... so beautiful that I went back there to sit after my afternoon bike ride, truly moved to tears by its beauty. After visiting in the morning, I was about to leave but decided to take a photo, so I went back to "catch" some people. I caught a group of Japanese guys, and after some semi-obstacles communication, I got a pretty good Polaroid photo and a travel photo that made me look taller. But I don't know if my reaction wasn't as enthusiastic as they expected, as they kept asking, "Is this okay?" Dude! The photo you took of me is one of the better ones taken by the others after me! Passing by Shiratori Beach, I saw swans and happened to meet a Japanese couple whose dog was about to fight with the swans—it was hilarious! In the end, the dog was forcibly dragged away by its owner. I then asked the woman to take a photo of me with the swans, and in the final picture, I realized how timid I looked! And then, my absolute favorite Polaroid photo from this trip! A group of girls who were also cycling stopped to admire the scenery. I went up to them and asked them to take a picture of me cycling on Mount Fuji. The composition was perfect, the image was perfect, and there was no overexposure. There was even a gust of wind blowing my hair. Oh, I admired the picture for a long time after taking it [smiling face][smiling face][smiling face]. Out of politeness, I also asked if she needed me to take a picture of them. She happily handed me her phone, and then I realized that a couple behind them were also with them. They were a family! So I took a picture of the five of them cycling with Mount Fuji in the background. One of the girls was very surprised when she saw the photo and kept saying "sugoi sugoi" [winking face]. When we said goodbye, all five of them rode over on their bicycles and gave me a high five. Oh my... I was in a really good mood [back to school season]. Also, while queuing for a restaurant where you can eat while looking at Mount Fuji, I met an adorable dog. I saw its little hat and asked the owner if it was its birthday. The owner said no, it was a carp's purse. It sounded familiar, but my brain didn't immediately register it. So I tried searching to see what holiday it was, and then the owner saw me and jokingly asked if I didn't know what "鯉のぼり" (koi no bori) was [crying emoji]. He then explained it to me in the simplest terms: it's Japanese Children's Day, but it's only for boys? The koi on the chest is a blessing. This shop definitely has a great view, and the pancakes are huge!

Oshino Hakkai is a charming town surrounded by stunning scenery, with a clear view of Mt. Fuji from the village. The history of this place is fascinating, especially the crystal-clear ponds, which are incredibly beautiful. The water is cold and clean, and we enjoyed watching trout swimming around, making it an unforgettable experience. We also tried some local food, including grilled fish, fresh fruit, and sweet treats. Additionally, we purchased some souvenirs at very reasonable prices. Absolutely love this place!

We booked the ticket on the day we travel going to Yunessan it was an easy and quick transaction. During weekends they starts by 9 am until 7pm. We reach there early so we roam around nearby facilities. Staffs are great and helpful. English speaking are also available. Inside they have a big lockers to change into swimwear. Free and paid place to rest. Nearby convenience store and restaurants are available but tend to be very busy. Great place for family. You can bring your cp inside but don’t forget to bring a plastic pouch cover for your cp because its expensive to by inside. Shampoo and conditioner and body soap and blowers are available as well. Parking are also available free for 2 hours and 1600 yen after that. Great budget friendly onsen pool. If you want the traditional onsen you can pay extra.
