Yunshuiyao Ancient Town
Yunshuiyao Ancient Town was originally named Changjiao, but gained fame after the film "The Knot" was filmed here. Huizhou boasts two of the most beautiful coastal spots: Shuangyue Bay and Xunliao Bay. These two coastlines are also among the most beautiful beaches in Guangdong.
While Shuangyue Bay might have a slight edge in terms of scenery alone, Xunliao Bay excels in its larger scale, more comprehensive facilities, and greater livability. It's also closer to Shenzhen, and the newly expanded highway makes travel much smoother.
If you're simply visiting for tourism, you'll definitely want to explore both. If you're short on time and have to choose one, go to Shuangyue Bay. But if you're looking for a weekend getaway, to relax, enjoy seafood, feel the sea breeze, and not rush through tourist attractions, then choose Xunliao Bay.

I recommend entering from the Stone Islands entrance... there's not much scenery on the Zhelang side... the entire scenic area is quite a walk... the reefs are very unique... I'd like to go on a sunny day next time... it's still a bit chilly in February...

The Pearl River Cruise was pretty good. Easy to buy tickets off Trip; buy the tickets, get a QR code within seconds, scan QR code at pier - easy entry. Ship was pretty good. Booked 3rd level seats for the unobstructed views and was pretty surprised that I was booking a table on the 3rd level. That was great as we could sit down if we wanted to. The weather was perfect. No rain, clear skies, a bit of a breeze. It is a great family activity and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

We didn't catch any squid, but the owner helped us by casting a net every half hour, bringing up quite a few. We had a barbecue on the boat, which was a nice way to relax and have some fun in the evening. Even though we didn't catch any fish, we still had a barbecue and seafood porridge dinner.

I went with my wife to experience Chimelong's Halloween theme. I think I've only been to Chimelong's Halloween a few times before, this was my third. It was alright, though. There were more tourists dressed in cosplay than before, which added a lot to the festive atmosphere. The NPCs in the park were also quite helpful, and the parade was very nice. However, the park seemed smaller than before; some rides appeared to have been removed. Last time I was here, the 10-loop roller coaster was still there, but then I saw online that it had reached the end of its service life and was sold to India? This time it had become a catapult roller coaster. So many roller coasters, including the Vertical YYDS (it's been renamed, I think it's called the Circus Roller Coaster? I forget exactly). The haunted house was just so-so; it didn't feel as thrilling as before, and I felt like I could never go back to the old days. 🤔

My first time diving was totally worth it! I got to experience the underwater world for the first time! The speedboat ride alone takes over an hour round trip, and some places aren't cheap, but they included hotel pick-up and drop-off – what a great deal! 👍
