Hahei is a stunning beach, flanked by tall New Zealand Christmas trees, and the islands along the coast form natural breakwaters, so visitors can swim, boat and fish in the sea with confidence. The northward stretch of coastline and islands next to a marine reserve make it a popular spot for diving and kayaking. Numerous coral reefs, caves, arches and soft sediments provide ideal habitats for a variety of plants, fish, mollusks and crustaceans.Hahei · 13 km from Kaimarama
Cathedral Cove Beach

Cathedral Cove Beach

3.8
Cathedral Cove Beach is one of the most iconic coastal views on the Coromandel Peninsula. It is renowned for its spectacular natural rock arch and clear waters, with unique geological formations and a tranquil bay environment that combine to create a highly attractive natural landscape. Over time, wave erosion and geological changes have carved a massive arched passage into the coastal cliffs, resembling a natural vault, which is how it earned the name Cathedral Cove Beach. The area is surrounded by white sandy beaches, steep cliffs, and diverse coastal rock formations. Visitors can follow trails to enjoy the coastal scenery, or appreciate the unique terrain from the sea by boat or kayak. The bay's waters are clear and suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and other water activities, allowing visitors to experience the rich local marine environment up close. With its unique rock structures, beautiful bay environment, and diverse outdoor experiences, Cathedral Cove Beach has become one of New Zealand's most popular natural attractions.Hahei · 13 km from Kaimarama

Hot Springs Beach is located on the east coast of New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula, east of Auckland. There is natural hot water on the beach, when the tide is high, there will be steam coming out of the sea near the shore, and when the tide is low, the hot water will be gushing out by digging holes in the sand. The scenery here is beautiful, the sea view, listening to the sea waves, and soaking in the hot spring are completely free, especially when you dig out the hot spring pool yourself to enjoy yourself, which is not only pleasant, but also endless fun.Hot Water Beach · 15.6 km from Kaimarama

Hahei and Cathedral Bay are places that are worth visiting in Coromandel. The bay here is very long, and there are many reefs protruding from the sea on the beach. They are of various shapes and sizes, giving people endless imagination. There are not many tourists here, so it is a great place to take pictures.

It's worth going. When you walk onto the hot beach, you can immediately scoop out hot water. Remember, it's hot. !!! It was scalding hot. I almost got burned. Fortunately, the sea water cooled down immediately.

With forests on the side, waterfalls gurgling, and hot spring water from 600 meters underground flowing by your side, there are hot spring pools of different temperatures, a variety of SPA services, and delicious meals and drinks, enough to relax for a whole day.

This activity is a little thrilling, quite good, and very safe; I checked the safety belt several times. Originally, besides bungee jumping, there was also a skywalk, but due to unclear information in the travel advertisement, we only did the bungee jumping. There weren't many people doing it now. Afterwards, you get a free tour of the Sky Tower.

Hobbiton was an amazing experience with beautiful scenery, charming surroundings and incredible attention to detail. The entire place was well maintained, and walking through the village felt like stepping into a magical world. The lush green hills, iconic hobbit holes and picturesque landscapes made the visit truly memorable. What I appreciated most was how accommodating and considerate the staff were towards my friend with OKU (disability) needs. Their willingness to assist and ensure my friend could enjoy the experience made a real difference. It was wonderful to see a popular tourist attraction making an effort to be inclusive and welcoming to visitors with different needs. The surroundings were absolutely stunning, and there were plenty of opportunities to take beautiful photos and appreciate the unique atmosphere of the village. Every corner had something interesting to discover, and the scenery made the entire visit enjoyable .

Waiau should be a Māori name. I don’t know its meaning. The location of Waiau is in the north of Canterbury.
