Zao Hot Spring in Yamagata Prefecture, northeastern Japan, is famous for its icy trees in winter. January to March every year is the peak season for tree ice. Take the cable car up the mountain from Zaosanroku Station on the flat ground, change trains at Juhyo Plateau Station, and finally arrive at Jizo Summit Station. As soon as you exit the station, you can see a large piece of Juhyo heading towards you!

Okama, Miyagi Prefecture A famous crater lake located between Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures. Since it is located on a high mountain, the air is 4-5 degrees cooler than below. It is a good place to escape the heat in the middle of summer because the wind is very cool. I had the opportunity to go in August when the temperature was over 30 degrees nationwide, but on the top of Mt. Zao in Okama, the temperature was around 22 degrees, very cool and refreshing. When talking about Zao, everyone might think of the Giant Ice Monster and ski slopes in winter. But in summer, it is beautiful and refreshing in another way.

The Ice Monster of Zao Mountain Super-cooled fog droplets that do not freeze below 0 degrees Celsius are blown by the wind and stick to trees and other objects, forming ice called "霧氷" rime, large amounts of snow fall into the crevices on the trees and solidify, and this flow is repeated many times to form "樹氷" frost-covered trees. is "Snow monster" of trees covered with frost (ice monster)" and the crowd did not stop to see the frozen trees at an altitude of 1700m.Very 😎

Akihabara Falls is also one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Japan. The water volume is more abundant in summer and autumn. Tourism here is also a natural environment that the Japanese love very much. There is a direct bus to the waterfall, so you can experience the natural characteristics here up close.

If you come to Akiu Onsen, this is a place you should definitely stop by. It's rich in nature and you can feel the negative ions. We walked quite a bit, but there wasn't much to see, so maybe it wasn't necessary to go to the edge.
