Gold Coast beach stretches for approx. 70 km, and its golden sand is a hallmark of this coastline, which is how it got the name Gold Coast. The sand is fine and glows with a warm golden luster in the sunlight, while the water transitions from a shallow turquoise near the shore to a deep blue in the distance, creating distinct layers. The beach features several distinct sections along its length, with a lively atmosphere in the north and a relatively quieter vibe in the south, catering to visitors with different preferences. Surfing is a signature, long-standing experience at this beach. The coastline boasts several famous surf breaks, including the Superbank near Snapper Rocks, which is known for producing long, hollow waves that attract a large number of surfers year-round. Surf lifesavers patrol the beach, and red and yellow flags mark safe swimming areas. A coastal walkway connects the various beach sections, making it a great way to explore by walking or cycling. The beach enjoys abundant sunshine and a mild climate year-round, with different sections catering to various needs.Surfers Paradise · 41.4 km from Kerry

Gold Coast Sea World is a long-established marine theme park in Australia, located along the coastal area in the northern part of the Gold Coast. It combines marine animal exhibits, animal shows, and amusement rides into one park, offering both wildlife viewing and thrilling attractions. Animal encounters are the main highlight here: the penguin exhibit houses king penguins and gentoo penguins, where visitors can watch them waddle or dive into the water through viewing glass set against an icy landscape. The polar bear shores recreate the rocky coasts and pools of the Arctic summer, providing a rare chance to see polar bears in Australia. Shark Bay teems with sharks and rays, while the nearby ray reef allows hands-on interaction with rays. At seal harbor, Australian sea lions and fur seals bask on the shore or playfully chase each other in the water. The park hosts multiple daily dolphin shows and sea lion educational presentations—it's recommended to check the day's time slots upon arrival to plan your itinerary, and arrive early to secure seats for popular shows. Families with children shouldn't miss Nickelodeon Land, where animated characters like SpongeBob, Patrick Star, Dora, and PAW Patrol's Chase and Marshall meet travelers for photos. Aquaduck Gold Coast was established in 1996, the now famous & iconic Aquaduck remains Australia's first and finest amphibious adventure. Departing from Surfers Paradise, these tours offer a perfect blend of city tours and river cruising. We cruise past the fancy waterfront mansions of the rich and famous while taking in the spectacular views of the Gold Coast waterways and famous landmarks. There is a guide and a captain on the duck boat. The car will first take tourists to browse the city, and then drive to the special pier to slowly launch into the water. The tour bus will immediately transform into a cruise ship. The guide will introduce you to the famous and wealthy waterside villas on both sides of the river. Observing wild animals is also fun. Full explanation. In areas where there are few boats, children can also sit in the driving seat and be the helmsman with the help of the captain. At the end of the duck boat tour, the guide will issue a helmsman certificate with their name on each child who has sat in the driver's seat.Surfers Paradise · 41.1 km from Kerry

Springbrook National Park

91 reviews
Springbrook National Park is located in the mountain rainforests of the Gold Coast hinterland. The plateau, shaped by ancient volcanic activity, has been deeply carved by streams into layers of cliffs and canyons, creating a lush, green landscape. Most waterfalls and lookouts are accessible via short trails. The park consists of several areas, with the Springbrook Plateau and Natural Bridge being the most popular. Visitors can enjoy waterfalls and cliffs during the day, and see the starlike glowworms in the caves at night—each offering its own unique experience. Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park, is the signature attraction here: years of erosion by stream water have hollowed out the mountain, and now the stream pours through a circular hole in the cave ceiling, weaving a curtain of water inside. A natural stone bridge remains where the cave roof collapsed. You can see the waterfall passing through the cave by following the approximately 1 km loop trail. After dark, the cave ceiling lights up with patches of blue-green glow—these are the bioluminescent larvae commonly known as glowworms. They are actually the larvae of a type of fungus gnat, and their cold tail light is used to lure prey. When gathered in large numbers, they look like a starry sky hanging overhead. They glow every night throughout the year, though their light is dimmer during the dry winter and spring seasons and exceptionally bright during the hot, humid, and rainy seasons. On humid summer nights, you might occasionally spot glowing mushrooms along the trail, and sometimes even fireflies. Please turn off flashlights and camera flashes when viewing, as direct bright light will cause the colony to "turn off" instantly. Please stay on the trail, and do not enter the water in the cave area. After walking out of the cave, don't forget to look up; the stars in the mountain night sky are equally moving. The plateau area is home to most of the lookouts and waterfalls: the Canyon Lookout is just a few steps from the road, offering a view of Twin Falls and Rainbow Falls as they tumble over the cliff edge into the deep valley. The ambitiously named Best of All Lookout requires a walk through a forest of ancient Antarctic beech trees that are thousands of years old; on a clear day, you can see Mount Warning in New South Wales in the distance. Purling Brook Falls, with a drop of nearly 100 m, is the park's iconic waterfall. The loop trail allows you to descend to the valley floor, where you can stand on a suspension bridge and look up at the entire water curtain, which is especially spectacular when the water volume is high after rain. The Twin Falls circuit allows you to walk directly behind the waterfall.Springbrook · 26.1 km from Kerry

Paradise Farm is a treasure trove for experiencing the Australian countryside! As soon as you enter the farm, you can smell the natural scent of hay and soil. The fluffy sheep, cute kangaroos and emus are wandering on the grass, which is very immersive. The most important thing you can't miss is the wool shearing performance! The farm workers skillfully "transform" the sheep. After the fluffy thick hair is shed, the sheep instantly becomes "skinny". You can also touch the wool on the spot, which is soft and healing. There is also a sheepdog show, where the dogs flexibly shuttle among the sheep, which is super smart! By the way, you can also feed the kangaroos by hand. They look super cute holding the feed bags. Remember to touch their backs gently. There is also a traditional Billy Tea brewing performance in the farm. Tea is boiled on the campfire with a tin kettle and paired with Australian toast. One bite is the authentic country taste. If you want to take photos, put on the cowboy clothes provided by the farm, stand in front of the red barn, and take photos that look like a western movie in minutes. It is a great place to immerse yourself in the Australian farming and pastoral life.

It was so much fun, much better than Tokyo DisneySea! The lines for the rides were shorter, and there were shows and interactions with manta rays. It's a shame we arrived a bit late in the morning and missed out on so many rides. The only downside was that the daily operating hours were too short. It's perfect for the whole family (the worst part is that adults aren't allowed to ride the carousel because they're tall; they can only ride in small cars, ugh).

We went straight to the zoo after getting off the plane. We arrived quite late, but we were lucky enough to see most of the animals, including wombats, Tasmanian devils, and smiling rats. A great zoo, highly recommended. The coffee at the entrance was delicious, and feeding the parrots was also very interesting. Feeding starts at 4 PM, and even when we left at 5 PM, there were still parrots to feed.

The rides and attractions are good. However, most of the rides got only one staff operating the process. Even though not many people were queuing (maybe around 30), we had to wait for at least 30 mins or more. Therefore we didn’t have enough time to play.

This is a must-visit in the Gold Coast area of Brisbane. My favorite attractions are: Twin Falls, Rainbow Falls, Qinquan Falls, Natural Bridge. These places are very beautiful during the day, but they are a million times more beautiful at night. There are many fireflies on the forest road and in the cave... Just think, in New Zealand, you have to spend 50 New Zealand dollars to see the fireflies in the cave, but here it is free!!! An absolutely amazing place!!!
