If you're planning Ksamil, here's what people should know BEFORE arriving. 🇦🇱🌊Everyone sees the famous photos: turquoise water, pale sand and little green islands offshore. And yes, bring your camera! 📸 When the sun hits the Ionian Sea, the water really can have that bright turquoise color Ksamil is known for.But don't see ONE famous beach and think you've seen Ksamil.Walk the coastline. Different coves have completely different atmospheres, from busy beach clubs and loungers to quieter areas with sand, pebbles and incredibly clear shallow water. Don't only photograph toward the sea either. Look back at the coastline, capture the islands from different angles and stay for sunset.TIMING MATTERS. ☀️July and August are extremely busy. September, especially later September, brings fewer crowds while the water is still warm, but Ksamil is much more seasonal than nearby Sarandë. As the off-season progresses, beach clubs, restaurants, boat rentals and other seasonal businesses begin closing. In late autumn or winter, I'd use Sarandë as a year-round base and visit Ksamil for the day.📍 DON'T LEAVE WITHOUT SEEING:🏝️ Ksamil Islands – the iconic islets behind those postcard views. Kayaking or taking a small boat lets you see them from another perspective.🏖️ Ksamil's central beaches – see the famous view, but KEEP WALKING afterward.🌊 Ohana Beach – recently praised for clear water and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.🌅 Black Pearl – one to remember for sunset views.🌴 Africana Beach Club – another popular spot overlooking the islets.🏛️ Butrint National Park – don't come this far and forget what's just beyond the beaches! This UNESCO World Heritage Site combines ancient Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian history in a beautiful natural setting.Ksamil may get you here for the turquoise water, but don't let the beach be the only thing you remember. 🇦🇱💙
