LysefjordLocated in southwestern Norway, with a total length of approx. 42 km, it is a long, narrow waterway carved by glaciers between granite mountains. The name "Lyse" comes from the light-colored granite on both sides. The fjord's landscape was initially formed by streams eroding an ancient plain, and later continuously sculpted by glaciers during multiple ice ages, ultimately shaping the deep U-shaped valley seen today. The cliffs on both sides of the fjord rise almost vertically from the water, with the highest points reaching around 1,000 m. The mouth of the fjord is located right next to Stavanger, and sightseeing boats can sail directly into the depths of the fjord for cruises.Forsand · 25 km from Lysebotn

Pulpit Rockis a natural flat-topped rock protruding into the air by the side of Lysefjord in Norway, with a nearly flat surface, suspended approx. 604 m above the fjord water, covering an area of approx. 600 square meters, and protruding over 30 m from the connected ridge. There are no railings on the edge of the rock platform, and beneath your feet is a nearly vertical cliff. Standing on the rock surface, Lysefjord narrows into a long, deep waterway in your field of vision, with steep mountains on both sides, clear reflections on the water when there is no wind, and passing cruise ships that look as small as toys. It is a highly recognizable fjord landscape in Norway.Songesand · 32.5 km from Lysebotn
Kjeragbolten

Kjeragbolten

3.9
Kjerag is one of the most iconic local natural attractions. It is actually a massive boulder wedged between two cliffs by glacial movement. From a distance, it appears to be suspended in mid-air, which is why visitors call it "Kjerag." The rock is about 1 km above the fjord, surrounded by steep mountains and magnificent fjord views, attracting many hikers every year to take on the challenge. Because it is located in a mountainous area, reaching Kjerag usually requires a hike of several hours, but the journey is unique, offering views of alpine lakes, exposed rock faces, and Nordic mountain scenery. Compared to some of the more developed city attractions in Norway, Kjerag emphasizes natural experiences and outdoor adventure. Many visitors stand in the center of the rock to take photos, creating visually striking images, which has made this one of the most famous photo spots in Norway. Summer offers relatively better hiking conditions, while mountain weather changes rapidly in winter, and some routes may be closed. Due to the low level of development in the surrounding area, the overall environment retains its original mountain landscape. For those who love fjord scenery and outdoor sports, this is an important place to experience the natural charm of Norway.Lysebotn · 9.7 km from downtown

Munch is one of the must-visit attractions in Oslo. The museum houses a vast collection of Edvard Munch's paintings, sketches, letters, notes, photos, and other precious materials, offering you a comprehensive understanding of Munch's life. Interestingly, the reason Munch has been able to preserve and display so many of Munch's works and historical materials is that he was not a best-selling artist during his lifetime. As a result, many of his works remained unpublished until his death. Munch had a habit of keeping his works with him during his lifetime, and upon his death in 1944, he bequeathed all the works in his possession to the city of Oslo. The museum was established in 1963 and moved to its current seaside location in 2021. The museum houses three versions of "The Scream" — oil painting, sketch, and print — which are rotated for display due to the light sensitivity and fragility of the paper-based works, with at least one version usually on view. Masterpieces such as "Madonna," "The Sick Child," and "Puberty" are also part of the collection, and the combinations of works in different galleries are regularly changed, offering new arrangements with each visit. For large-scale works, don't miss the two-story gallery showcasing monumental pieces like "The Sun." The upper floors also feature floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the fjord and the opera house, perfect for a rest or photo opportunity.Norway · Oslo

The Vigeland Park

The Vigeland Park is located within Frogner Park in the west of Oslo. It is the result of nearly 20 years of dedicated work by Norwegian sculptor Gustav Vigeland: 192 bronze and granite sculptures, featuring over 650 figures in various poses, were all created by him alone. They are arranged around the theme of "life," covering birth, growth, love, and aging. Such a complete set of sculptures created independently by a single artist is rare in scale worldwide. The tour follows the central axis from east to west: first, cross the bridge, which is about 100 m long. Among the life-sized bronze figures on both sides of the bridge, the "Angry Boy" stomping his foot is a must-see for almost everyone to take a photo with. Next is the large circular fountain, where the bronze reliefs around the rim and the black-and-white granite inlaid ground are worth a close look. Further ahead, the "Monolith" on the high platform is carved from a single block of granite and stands 17.3 m tall. The column features 121 figures lifting each other up, climbing layer by layer toward the top. It took three stonemasons 14 years to complete. The circular steps below the column are surrounded by dozens of granite sculpture groups. At the end of the axis, the "Wheel of Life," featuring a ring of figures holding onto each other, concludes the tour, echoing the theme of the cycle of life throughout the park. The park itself has open green spaces, with lawns, woods, and ponds. Locals often come here to walk, picnic, and jog. If you want to learn more about the sculptor's life and the plaster casts of the "Monolith," you can also visit the museum adjacent to the park, which was converted from Vigeland's former home and studio.Norway · Oslo

A fjord refers to an estuary with cliffs or slopes on both sides. There are many places with estuaries in the world. The fjords in Norway and New Zealand are relatively famous. In particular, the fjord scenic area in Norway is a major project of Nordic tourism. The beautiful fjords and the surrounding forests and mountains form a beautiful landscape painting.

While the photo captures a sense of loneliness, Preikestolen Rock is actually quite lively. You can capture the desired sense of pride. Be sure to go early for less light and fewer people. Otherwise, even if you're queuing, you won't be able to capture this feeling.

The Norwegian "Miracle Stone" is the most famous tourist attraction in Norway. This 5-cubic-meter stone is stuck between cliffs. The "Miracle Stone" is located on the top of the Norwegian Kjerag Mountain, about 1,000 meters from the bottom of the valley. The "Miracle Stone" is also a "stone for the brave". If you have the courage to climb to the top of the Miracle Stone, you can have a panoramic view of the infinite scenery at the bottom of the valley. But for timid travelers, it is necessary to remind them "never look down."

The Munch Museum is most famous for its three paintings, including "The Shout." They are truly the museum's treasures. Only one painting is exhibited approximately every half hour. The view from the windows is also absolutely stunning, making it well worth a visit.
