I think we need more places like this where elephants are treated with respect and now abused. I found the experience to be rather adventurous. I saw people write a review complaining about shower facilities and food being rather cheap. Honestly if you want luxury then go spa but if you really want some time with elephants where you can walk around with them and pet them and feel their closure then Elephant Sanctuary in Chiang Mai is the spot. I loved it.

When I booked, I was worried about being scammed because there was no license plate number or contact confirmation. Actually, it was a lot of fun; there were vehicles painted with elephants that picked us up, making them easy to recognize. But it's still more convenient to buy a local SIM card that can make calls. The drive to the elephant camp took about an hour. There were various activities, and lunch consisted of fried rice, fruit, and spring rolls.
