Colorful Waterfall is located in Mae Deng District, Chiang Mai, and is a part of Mae Deng National Forest Park. The water source of the colorful waterfall is Rainbow Spring (or colorful spring), and the spring water contains a high amount of calcium carbonate. When the spring water falls, calcium is deposited on the rock, and calcium carbonate makes the rock surface less slippery, making it easy to walk towards the waterfall. Even if someone poured cement down the rock, it would harden underwater instead of setting on the rock. BuaTong Waterfall is a very worthwhile sight to visit. But don't come just for the waterfall, but also to see the beautiful forest.Mae Taeng · 26.1 km from downtown

Nestled in the lush forests of Mae Thanh in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand, New Elephant Home is not an ordinary tourist attraction, but a warm and sanctuary for elephants. Instead of offering elephant rides or shows, it encourages elephants to roam freely according to their natural instincts, foraging, socializing, and wandering in open areas, free from forced labor. This philosophy aims to improve the living conditions of elephants in Thailand through practical action, while providing visitors with more meaningful interactive experiences. Visitors can choose different experiences based on their schedule, such as half-day or full-day tours, including hand-feeding elephants, hiking with them through the natural valleys, and learning about elephant habits and ecological conservation. These itineraries give elephants more freedom and allow visitors to get closer to elephants in their natural habitat, moving away from the mechanical interactions often found in traditional tourism.Mae Taeng · 2.4 km from downtown

Chiang Mai's more complete elephant park tour is a collection of bamboo rafting and jungle ziplines. Let you experience the feeling of heaven and earth! We will also arrange for you to watch the painting and dance performance of the elephant, the symbol of Thailand, and get up close to the elephant, like the warriors of ancient Siam, ride the elephant and go to the front line. The Chokchai Elephant Park has many elephants and is highly ornamental. The surrounding scenery is beautiful. Elephants are truly multi-talented, performing modeling, playing musical instruments, football, logging, painting...and more! You will be moved by the art of elephants, a fun journey.Mae Taeng · 2.8 km from downtown

"Bua Tong Waterfall" in Bua Tong Waterfall National Park (Seven-Colored Fountain) A white, shiny limestone waterfall, a long path, almost 200 meters, with 3 levels in total, suitable for climbing and playing in the water (not slippery, easy to walk, there are ropes to hold on to all the way). It is not far from Chiang Mai city, only 52 km (about 1 hour). The route is easy and convenient. The asphalt road reaches the park. Highly recommend this elephant camp tour! Our guide, Dum, was incredibly nice and patient throughout, even helping us take photos. The camp staff were also very friendly. The itinerary was packed with activities: first, we prepared and fed the Asian elephants ourselves, then went down to the river to bathe them. The elephants were incredibly cute; they sprayed water and gave us adorable smiles. Afterwards, we took a small bamboo raft across the river. The raft was very stable, kept us dry, and the environment was quite clean. Finally, we continued our close interaction and feeding of the Asian elephants. The entire experience was a gentle, close encounter, a truly unforgettable experience, and definitely worth coming!

If you are unsure about visiting then change your mind, this place was amazing, the care and attention from the guide and the elephant handlers is second to none. Each elephant in the whole sanctuary has it singular handler, you can clearly see the bond between them. Beautiful, clean and everything you could ever imagine it to be.

Wat Ban Den, Chiang Mai Province or Wat Den Saleesri Mueang Kaen, Mae Taeng District is located on a low hill. Under the hill is a cave which is a sacred place. The temple has beautiful architecture with applied Lanna art. It is a beauty that is imbued with moral principles. It was originally named Wat Ban Den since Khru Ba Chao Theuang Nathasilo came to reside at this temple. From never having a single Bodhi tree, there have been many Bodhi trees. Lanna Thai architecture at Wat Ban Den, Chiang Mai Province In 1894, Khru Ba Theuang Nathasilo, the abbot, renovated the temple. The buildings inside the temple are exquisitely beautiful with Lanna Thai architecture, including the ordination hall, the library, the drum tower, the Inthakhil pillar shrine, and the golden teak wood hut. Mueang Kaen is an ancient city located to the east of Mae Taeng District. Therefore, it is the location of “Wat Ban Den Saleesri Mueang Kaen”, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. Garuda or Hasadin bird in the Himmapan forest It has more strength than five elephants and is believed to be the carrier of the souls of the dead to heaven.
