Mikumi National Park

As the northern extension of the Selous ecosystem, Mikumi National Park, with its golden grasslands and baobab trees, forms a typical East African savannah landscape. Mikumi National Park is one of the better natural parks in Tanzania and is also very close to Dar es Salaam. Visitors can watch various animals in the jungle and experience exotic customs. In the early morning, drive across the Mkata Plains, where you can often see zebras and wildebeests migrating under the watchful eyes of giraffes, elephants bathing in the sand on the banks of the Ruaha River, and hippos looming in the reeds. Blue-eared starlings and white-backed vultures gather at the bird-watching point at the foot of Maragure Mountain. The national park has specially set up a night observation area, where the agile figures of servals hunting can be captured under the searchlight. The tent camp is built on the mountain, and the terrace overlooks the grassland under the starry sky. At dusk, taste Swahili-style barbecue at the camp, accompanied by traditional Ngoma drum music, and feel the wonderful fusion of wilderness and modern conservation concepts.Morogoro · 45.7 km from downtown

Nyerere National Park is located in southeastern Tanzania and is one of Africa's largest wildlife reserves, making it an excellent destination for experiencing the African wilderness. The park features vast grasslands, forests, wetlands, and rivers, with diverse ecosystems that create a rich wildlife habitat. Compared to some of the more popular, crowded national parks, this area feels more open and pristine, offering a more authentic connection to nature. A major draw here is wildlife viewing. Take an off-road vehicle deep into the park to spot elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of wild birds. While touring along the rivers and wetlands, you can see animals drinking, resting, or moving about by the water, offering an authentic glimpse into the African wild. In addition to land safaris, some areas offer water-based viewing, allowing you to observe riverbank ecosystems and animal activity from a different perspective.Matambwe · 490m from downtown

Zanzibar Island is an archipelago located in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Tanzania, known as the "Spice Island" due to its historical abundance of spices like cloves. Since ancient times, it has been an important stopover for African, Arab, Indian, and Persian merchants traveling across the Indian Ocean, where diverse cultures have converged and blended over centuries to form the unique Swahili culture. The island's core historical area is Stone Town, where winding, narrow coral stone alleys resemble a maze, lined with intricately carved wooden doors and ancient buildings with ornate balconies. These wooden doors, known as "Zanzibar doors," are made from African ebony, and their carvings blend Arab motifs with Indian brass studs, serving as a microcosm of the cultural fusion in Stone Town. The city is also dotted with historical landmarks such as the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, and the Palace Museum, as well as the Anglican Cathedral, which once served as a hub for the slave trade. Beyond its rich history and culture, the coastline of Zanzibar Island is equally impressive. Palm-fringed white sand beaches stretch for several km, and the surrounding waters feature well-preserved coral reefs, making the area a popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving, with opportunities to swim with dolphins in the clear water. The island is also home to Jozani Forest, where the rare Zanzibar red colobus monkey resides, making it a great destination for travelers who enjoy nature and ecology.Tanzania · Kati
