Things to do in Mount Siguniang

I highly recommend Mount Siguniang! It truly lives up to its reputation as the "Queen of Sichuan Mountains, the Alps of the East." This trip to western Sichuan was absolutely breathtaking; all my expectations were met, and it even far exceeded my anticipation! The four snow-capped peaks stand in a row, with the highest, Yaomei Peak, towering and beautiful, perpetually covered in snow, its sharp edges striking awe-inspiring against the clear blue sky of the plateau. Clouds often swirl around the mountainsides like a soft white veil, sometimes obscuring the peaks, sometimes revealing their true beauty. Every frame, amidst the ever-changing clouds, is like a natural oil painting; no filter is needed for any shot.

This is the friendliest place in western Sichuan. The scenery is beautiful, and it's not tiring. You can take a sightseeing bus up the mountain and slowly enjoy the scenery on the way down. We also went rafting. It's a place I would like to visit again in different seasons.

Mount Siguniang, known as the Queen of Sichuan Mountains, was a popular destination for my wife and me today. After getting off the tour bus, we explored Changping Valley. The weather was beautiful, with gentle breezes and stunning scenery. Streams babbled along the way, and snow-capped mountains stood majestically. My wife, being less energetic, rested at Kushu Beach. I hiked all the way to Muluozi, where I looked up directly at the Yaomei Peak of Mount Siguniang – a truly breathtaking experience. Highly recommended!

Avoid horseback riding at all costs! Avoid horseback riding at all costs! Avoid horseback riding at all costs! I booked a round-trip horseback ride to Huahaizi for 720 yuan, but on the way there, the driver at the pick-up point refused to take me! He said he didn't want to go anymore. Later I found out he went to pick up hikers coming down from Dafeng in the early morning and ripped them off! I was speechless! So here's my very honest advice for anyone going to Haizigou: 1. Don't ride a horse. If you want to ride, only go as far as Chaotianping. Don't go any further. First, you're likely to get ripped off, and second, the scenery is best at Chaotianping. Go as far as Shiban Re, and the Dahaizi area is really not worth it; it's quite ordinary. Huahaizi is just a ditch unless it's in bloom. Anyone who goes there is a huge waste of 20km of boring mountain trails. Anyone who rides a horse is a fool who gets ripped off by the horsemen. Maobiliang is a viewing point on the road along the Sichuan West Loop. From here, as long as the weather is good, you can see the whole picture of Siguniang Mountain, especially the highest peak, Simei Peak, which is the second highest peak in western Sichuan. The snow on the top of the mountain never melts all year round. The surrounding mountains are also very beautiful when viewed from the viewing point!

Dead Tree Beach is an open riverbed with two small and clear rivers in the middle. The dead trees on the gravel riverbed are either standing or lying down. Some are standing proudly and vigorously pointing to the sky, while others are lying down across the small river on the riverbed. The clear river water and the dead trees on the riverbed have a kind of strong and tough beauty. In the middle of the river, there is a dry forest, standing there palely. Although the trees have lost their luster, like an old man in his twilight years, they still stand stubbornly. The roots of the trees are intertwined, and the branches are varied in shape, like dragons and snakes dancing, or like an exhibition of sculptures.

This redwood forest is located in Shuangqiaogou of the Siguniang Mountain Scenic Area, with an altitude of more than 3,000 meters. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and beautiful scenery. Visitors can walk through the forest along the wooden plank road and feel the nature.
