Three Sisters

Three Sisters

Three Sisters are an iconic sandstone rock formation in the Blue Mountains in Australia, rising on the Jamison Valley cliff edge near Katoomba. They consist of three yellow-brown sandstone peaks standing side by side, named Meehni, Wimlah, and Gunnedoo, each at about 900 m elevation. Formed by wind and rain eroding the softer sandstone over hundreds of millions of years, they and the continuous cliffs behind them create one of the Blue Mountains' most recognizable scenes. A widely told Aboriginal legend adds a story to the rocks: three sisters from the Katoomba people fell in love with three brothers from the nearby Nipian people, a relationship that broke tribal law and sparked conflict between the groups. In the crisis, an elder turned the sisters into stone to protect them; no one could ever restore them, and the Three Sisters have watched over the valley ever since. There are several versions of the tale, and it's best taken as a story—the real protagonists remain the three rock peaks before you. When you visit, don't be satisfied with just viewing them from a distance: Echo Point viewing platform is the classic spot to frame Three Sisters with the whole valley in one shot. From there, the Giant Stairway trail descends nearly 1,000 stone steps to the valley floor; walking partway down lets you look up at the cliffs from below, offering a more dramatic angle than the viewpoint. The mist from the Blue Mountains' eucalyptus forest often gives the valley a pale blue veil, and the soft light at dawn and at sunset is ideal for photography. The stairs are steep—easy to descend but strenuous to climb back up, so go only as far as you can manage.Katoomba · 17 km from Mount Victoria

You haven’t been to Sydney if you haven’t been to the Blue Mountains. World Heritage Site that is 2 hours scenic train ride from Sydney Central Station. If you’re on a budget like me, Get off at Katoomba station & take the bus to Echo Point to see the three sisters and walk the giant staircase down to bottom of the 3 sisters. But if you want to spend a little, Scenic World tour office is just at the exit of the Katoomba train station.

Honestly, the Blue Mountains are far inferior to some famous mountains in China. If you don't hike, all you see are the Three Sisters peaks, which aren't even really mountains. The cable car ride is just for fun, you won't get much experience from it.

The red cable car 🚠 was so much fun! I rode it twice. The second time, I asked if I could sit in the front row, and the staff warmly invited me there and even offered to help me take photos!

Rolla is an English town in the western suburbs of Sydney. Most of the buildings here are English country buildings with a strong retro color. In this small village, there are many very exquisite shops hidden, which are very unique and worth visiting.

Traveling to Australia, this stop came to Sydney, and followed the tour group to the Blue Mountains to check in. There is a small town called Leura at the foot of the Blue Mountains. It is a very famous town here. Because it is close to the Blue Mountains, many tourists who go to the Blue Mountains will stop here to take a walk and take a break before continuing their journey. Because of its scenery, spring and autumn are its best tourist seasons every year. In spring, the main street of the town is full of cherry blossoms on both sides, and the pink sea of flowers is very beautiful; in autumn, the red and yellow leaves set off the autumn atmosphere. You can choose your favorite season to play.

I visited this small park on Sydney Harbour, after a pleasant walk in the nearby Garigal National Park. Echo Park is compact but well laid out, with some short but pleasant walkways close to the harbour, grassy areas, a separate children's play area, picnic areas on the harbour and toilet facilities. Definitely worth considering a visit if you are in the area. Be aware that there are not many shops in the area, so take water, food etc with you.

The Blue Mountains are huge. This is the Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens. There were a lot of people on the first weekend after the ban was lifted. It is autumn in Australia now. The autumn in the Blue Mountains is undoubtedly very beautiful. There are maple leaves and sycamore trees here, with various colors layered on top of each other. The climate here is also a little colder than in Sydney. The fallen leaves, colorful colors, and the blue sky are beautiful at first glance.
