Lake Muskoka

4.4
Lake Muskoka is located in the Muskoka region of Ontario, Canada. Known as the "backyard of Ontario" and "Honeymoon Lake," it attracts many visitors who come to experience its pristine nature and leisurely lifestyle. Lake Muskoka is not a single lake, but a vast lake system composed of numerous lakes with winding shorelines, dotted with hundreds of small islands and private cottages. The scenery varies with the seasons: in spring and summer, the lakes and mountains, clear blue water and sky, and lush greenery are perfect for sailing, kayaking, fishing, and wakeboarding; in the fall, the forests are ablaze with color as maple leaves turn red and gold, making it a premier destination for leaf-peeping in Canada; in winter, it is blanketed in silver, offering opportunities for ice fishing and snow activities. A steamship cruise is a classic experience, such as riding the century-old Segwun to tour the colorful cottages and forests along the shore, evoking a sense of nostalgic romance. Lake Muskoka is not only a leisure paradise but also a destination that blends nature, culture, and adventure.Muskoka Lakes · 17 km from downtown

Ontario is the hometown of the famous doctor Norman Bethune. This house has been completely transformed into an exhibition hall and memorial hall, which is maintained by the government. It contains a lot of information about Bethune, as well as some domestic commemorative content.

The scenery is pretty good. Of course, the maple leaves are not as colorful as those in Algonquin, especially when you just come out of Algonquin Provincial Park, the contrast is obvious, but the lake view is better, and it is pleasing to the eye from different angles when standing on a high place. What's more, this is a free attraction with free parking.

There is a parking fee for this attraction, so I hesitated for a while. I have a season ticket for Ontario Parks, so I thought I didn't have to pay more. But since I was here, I still had to see it. I paid a little more than $11 for the fare, parked the car, and felt that it was a great viewing platform. There are no autumn leaves in the summer, but the green mountains and forests, the blue lake, and the road passing through the mountains make me feel relaxed at a glance. There is an iron viewing platform, but the wind was too strong, so I retreated halfway up.
