Towers of Paine
Towers of Paine are located in Patagonia, southern Chile, and are part of the southern section of the Andes. The entire mountain range was formed by the repeated glacial erosion of granite bodies created by magma intrusion over 10 million years ago. In addition to the towers, it includes the main peak, Paine Grande, at an elevation of approx. 2900 m, and a jagged ridge known as the "Horns of Paine." Glaciers, lakes, grasslands, and forests are scattered throughout and around the mountains. The three towers stand side by side and are named Agostini, Central, and Monzino. Among them, Agostini is approx. 2500 m high, while the other two are slightly lower.
