The Mauritshuis Museum is located in the center of Hague, adjacent to the parliamentary complex. The building itself is worth seeing: this 17th-century mansion was originally the private residence of Count John Maurice of Nassau-Siegen, designed by architects Jacob van Campen and Pieter Post. Its symmetrical facade is considered one of the representative works of Dutch classical architecture. The restored "Golden Room" on the ground floor is renowned for its gilded decorations and allegorical ceiling paintings—don't forget to look up during your visit. The museum saves masterpieces such as Vermeer's "View of Delft" and "Girl with a Pearl Earring," Rembrandt's breakthrough work "The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp," as well as works by Rubens. The museum's collection provides an excellent showcase of the people, landscapes, customs, and daily life during the Dutch Golden Age. The museum houses approx. 200 permanent exhibits on display. Though small in scale, it can be comfortably explored in one to two hrs. Visitors typically enter and exit through the lobby of the new building across the street, accessing the old hall via a round-trip underground passage. For a quieter viewing experience of "Girl with a Pearl Earring," it is recommended to avoid peak hours.Netherlands · Hague

Giethoorn

Giethoorn

4.9/5
215 reviews
Giethoorn is a water village where canals replace roads. Because of its crisscrossing waterways and lush greenery, it is known as the "Venice of the North." The village's name comes from the large number of goat horns unearthed by early residents while digging for peat; "Geytenhoren" in Dutch means "goat horn," which was later simplified to Giethoorn. The lake district where the village is located is itself a mark left by centuries of peat extraction, with the excavated trenches gradually developing into today's canal network. A major scenic view in the village is the thatched-roof farmhouses built along the river—the roofs are covered with reeds, complemented by wooden exterior walls and meticulously maintained gardens, scattered along both banks of the canal and connected by numerous small wooden bridges. Boating along the canals is the core way to experience the village; traveling through the tranquil waterways by small boat allows you to enjoy the view of the thatched-roof houses and pastoral scenery from the water. In addition to the waterways, you can also cycle along the forest paths to experience the village's pastoral atmosphere from another perspective.Netherlands · Giethoorn

Anne Frank House

453 reviews
Anne Frank House is the hiding place where Anne Frank and seven others hid from Nazi persecution during World War II. Anne spent over two years in hiding here and wrote the now-famous The Diary of a Young Girl. The building consists of a main house facing the canal and an annex at the rear: the main house was once the office of the spice company run by Anne's father, Otto Frank, and today, the office and warehouse have been restored to their wartime appearance; the annex is the famous "Secret Annex," with its entrance hidden behind a movable bookcase, and the eight people in hiding lived in the upper rooms of the annex. After the Frank family was arrested, the furniture and personal belongings in the Secret Annex were cleared out by the Nazi authorities. The museum features a diary exhibition displaying the original red-checkered diary Anne received for her 13th birthday, as well as her later notebooks, books of favorite quotes, and short story manuscripts.Netherlands · Amsterdam

Taking an Amsterdam Canal Cruises is the perfect way to explore Amsterdam. The Amsterdam canal belt, completed in the 17th century, is a masterpiece of urban construction and architectural design, as well as a concrete manifestation of Amsterdam's political, economic, and cultural prosperity during the Dutch "Golden Age." Amsterdam is a city of water, with a crisscrossing network of rivers and canals. There are over 160 man-made or improved canals of various sizes. More than 2,000 "houseboats" are moored along the canals, which, despite being boats, are fully equipped with all facilities. Taking a glass boat tour is the best way to experience the unique charm of Amsterdam, the city of water. With over 160 canals, the cruise glides through the waterways, flanked by typical Dutch traditional houses. Along the way, famous attractions like the Anne Frank House and Westerkerk can be seen in full view. Some of the more famous canals in Amsterdam include the Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht and Herengracht.Netherlands · Amsterdam
Zaanse Schans

Zaanse Schans

7.4
4.7/5
603 reviews
Zaanse Schansis a historic village built along the Zaan River. Since the 1960s, historic buildings from across the Zaan region have been relocated here, gradually forming its current appearance and recreating the scene of the Zaan region during its industrial heyday in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Zaan region was once a major industrial hub in Western Europe, where hundreds of windmills historically operated along the river simultaneously, serving industrial functions such as sawing wood, pressing oil, and grinding dyes and mustard. Today, several traditional windmills still operate along the river in Zaanse Schans, each serving different functions like sawing wood, pressing oil, and grinding dyes and mustard, with some open for visitors to explore inside. Iconic green wooden houses, warehouses, and craft workshops line the riverbank, creating a distinctively Dutch pastoral scene. The village features a clog workshop where visitors can watch the entire process of traditional clog carving; the cheese workshop showcases the craft of making Dutch cheese, with fresh products available for tasting. Additionally, traditional craft venues such as a bakery museum and a pewter casting workshop are scattered throughout. Taking a boat tour along the Zaan River is another way to experience it; with windmills slowly turning and wooden houses dotting the banks, looking back at the entire village from the water is a classic perspective of Zaanse Schans. People still live here today, and strolling through the village allows you to experience traditional Dutch industrial and craft culture while seeing a picture of a living, working historic village.Netherlands · Zaandam

Heineken Experience

318 reviews
The Heineken Experience is located in the heart of Amsterdam. The building itself was Heineken's first brewery, established in 1867, where brewing continued until 1988 when operations moved due to capacity expansion. The old factory was later transformed into an immersive brand experience center and is now a highly popular local attraction. At the Heineken Experience, visitors can embark on an interactive visual journey with Heineken beer and taste fresh, authentic Heineken. The guided tour spans three floors, immersing visitors in the world of Heineken from the moment they enter. Each floor is divided into several exhibition areas, including the Heineken history hall, honors display hall, brewing workshop, tasting bar, "the stables tour," 4D "brewery" experience, and advertising screening room. The Heineken history hall showcases the brand's founder, its century-long history since 1864, brewing tools from different eras, Heineken glasses, beer barrels, and wooden crates used for storage. In the brewing workshop, staff explain the entire beer-making process and the selection of ingredients like barley and hops. At the interactive 4D "brewery" experience, visitors watch a film about the brewing process while stepping on the theater floor, which moves dynamically to the music.Netherlands · Amsterdam

I traveled to a city specifically for a painting. I went to The Hague just to see the masterpiece, "Girl with a Pearl Earring," in person. Compared to large museums, I personally prefer this art gallery; it's small, exquisite, and fulfilling, leaving a deep and unforgettable impression.

I went to keukenhof with my girlfriend as we love a gardens, scenary and flowers with my girlfriends favourites being tulips, this place certainly didn't disappoint. Beautiful areas with plenty to see. Tickets were purchased with no issues, there's several food places and a large cafe and souvenir shop. I had planned on proposing to my girlfriend here and found the perfect spot with someone able to capture the moment on camera for us. Fortunately she said yes! We will definitely be coming back here as there are so many different types of flowers and plants to see.

Giethoorn truly resembles a fairytale town, with more waterways than roads, and small boats moored in front of every house. Low houses with reed-roofed roofs line the waterways, their gardens meticulously manicured. Renting a boat and rowing yourself is the most relaxing way to experience it, slowly gliding under small bridges, with meadows and wild ducks on either side. The main street is somewhat commercialized, but turning into the side streets brings tranquility, with only the sound of oars paddling through the water. It's best to visit on a sunny day; the slippery roads can be quite inconvenient on rainy days.

A famous attraction that is worth visiting. Today the weather is nice and sunny, with plenty of sunshine, which is suitable for taking pictures. This is a famous windmill attraction. Along the lake path, you can enjoy various windmills, cultural landscapes and some cheese huts. Some windmills are workers and run under the action of wind. I took a lot of photos and enjoyed the picturesque windmill village.
