Yale University Art Gallery is located right next to the Yale University campus. Its origins can be traced back to the early 19th century, when painter John Trumbull donated hundreds of paintings depicting the American Revolutionary War to Yale College. Over the nearly two centuries since, it has gradually grown into an encyclopedic university art museum with hundreds of thousands of objects covering civilizations from ancient times to the present. As a teaching museum, it serves Yale's classrooms and research while remaining open to the public. Guided tours are often led by trained Yale students, offering a fresh, youthful perspective and often revealing the stories behind the works. The museum's highlights are quite concentrated: Van Gogh's "The Night Café," which depicts a late-night café and a central billiard table with striking, clashing red and green colors, is a piece many visitors come specifically to see. Trumbull's massive historical paintings, "Declaration of Independence" and "The Battle of Bunker Hill," are also on display here. In addition, there are dedicated galleries for early Italian Renaissance paintings, African wood carvings, ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artifacts, Asian art, and works by modern masters such as Picasso, Rothko, and Mondrian. The collection of American colonial silver and furniture is also quite significant. The building itself is an exhibit: the museum connects three buildings from different eras, including a 19th-century Gothic Revival building and a modernist pavilion designed by master architect Louis Kahn. The Kahn building's iconic triangular concrete ceiling is a reason many architecture enthusiasts visit. The three buildings are connected by bridges and staircases, with galleries spread across multiple floors. If you haven't had enough, the Yale Center for British Art across the street was also designed by Louis Kahn and is worth a visit while you're there.New Haven · 257m from downtown

When I came to visit Yale University, my friend recommended this small hill nearby where I could hike. It was said that I could climb up and have a good view, so I followed the navigation and drove all the way here. There is no way to drive all the way to the top of the park, so I need to get off the car and walk a distance. However, the hiking is relatively easy. There is only one road along the way, and most of it is under the shade of trees, so there is no sun at all. The slope of the hill is quite steep, so it is best to bring a bottle of water with you. After climbing to the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire town of Yale. The whole town is full of lakes and mountains, and the scenery is very good. You can also see graffiti on the cliffs, and there is also a monument in the park.
