Zhalong Ecotourism Area

Zhalong Ecotourism Area is located over 30 km southeast of Qiqihar city. It is one of the world's largest reed wetlands and the homeland of red-crowned cranes. The red-crowned crane is an endangered bird species, with fewer than 2,000 remaining worldwide. From March to October each year, about 400 red-crowned cranes migrate to Zhalong Wetland near the observation deck for breeding and resting. Here, visitors can admire the graceful figures of these cranes—either soaring in flight or wading through reeds in search of food. Every year, numerous photography enthusiasts come to capture these beautiful scenes. The crane flight training is a signature attraction of the scenic area, with approximately 20-30 red-crowned cranes participating in each session. You'll see a group of red-crowned cranes in the distance begin their takeoff run and flight under the guidance of handlers waving poles, circling briefly in the air before returning to the training area. Since the training area is some distance from the crane observation deck, photography enthusiasts should prepare telephoto lenses to capture spectacular shots. In addition to red-crowned cranes, you can also spot rare birds like Siberian cranes, hooded cranes, white-naped cranes, and demoiselle cranes here. The red-crowned crane flight training lasts only about 2 minutes, so be sure to arrive early. June to September is the best time to observe cranes, as there are more red-crowned cranes during this period. Some red-crowned cranes no longer migrate, so you can still see a few cranes in winter, though rarely. The reserve is a reed wetland with crisscrossing waterways, scattered lakes and marshes, and long wooden boardwalks built over the water. The attraction is quite large, and a full visit usually takes half a day. From the entrance to the crane observation area, there is a long stretch that can be covered by shuttle bus. The round-trip fare is CNY 10 per person. Board directly after ticket inspection and get off in front of the reception hall, then walk 2 km (about 30 mins) to reach the flight training platform. Upon arrival at the attraction, it is advisable to check the flight training schedule first. If pressed for time, you can take electric bikes directly to the terminal station, then walk approx. 20 minutes to the crane release boardwalk to await the flight training. In case of special weather conditions (such as strong winds, rain, high temperatures, or other force majeure factors), the flight training may be less effective or canceled. You can also take a cruise (CNY 50 per person, approx. 20 minutes) through the reed marshes within the attraction, with the terminal point at the crane release boardwalk.Qiqihar · 29.2 km from downtown

The Heilongjiang Military Governor's Office in Qiqihar was an important government decision-making center of the Beiyang government at that time. It was established in 1912. Its predecessor was a private residence in the deputy capital of Heilongjiang. It was built by Cheng Dequan and Zhou Shumo, governors of the late Qing Dynasty. The Rossiya Historical and Cultural Block in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province is located in the Ang'angxi District. It is a representative of the well-preserved Russian-style buildings along the China-Eastern Railway. The block extends outward from the original Ang'angxi Railway Station. There are more than 100 Russian-style buildings, including railway stations, employee clubs, engineers' buildings, railway hospitals and other facilities, forming a fully functional building complex. The building adopts a brick and wood structure with distinctive features: the exterior wall is equipped with carved doorways, high and narrow windows are matched with thick walls, and the interior retains wooden floors, fireplaces and fire walls, combining Russian style with practical functions. As a witness to the history of the China-Eastern Railway, the block combines the Russian architectural art of the late 19th century with the regional characteristics of Northeast China. In recent years, the local government has repaired key buildings, restored historical elements such as colored windows and wood carvings, and simultaneously upgraded the trail lighting and guide system. The street texture with towering ancient trees is now completely preserved in the block. Visitors can experience smart guided tours and take photos in Russian costumes.Qiqihar · 22.7 km from downtown

The shuttle bus ticket is a must-buy because the main gate is really far away. It seems like it's essential, especially since you have to walk a long way after getting off the shuttle. There's a speedboat that goes directly there, but it's unnecessary. Although the walk is tiring, the scenery is beautiful, and you can see several red-crowned cranes strolling along the roadside every now and then.

One particularly good thing is that the animal food is incredibly cheap, only 10 yuan a serving. It seems to be the most affordable zoo in Qiqihar among all the zoos in the country. There's a huge variety of animals, and many activities for children, all of which are free. There are also many attractions, which is great. The kids can look at the animal exhibits and then play on the slides. The electric carts are also very convenient, with parking available everywhere. There are also parades, making it a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely bring my kids back again if I have the chance.

The buffet was very generous, the service was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious. I was alone, so I was able to try a lot of dishes. The hot spring water was also wonderful—truly natural. And you absolutely must get a full-body scrub while you're here; the price isn't expensive, and it felt so good afterwards!

The lovely lady recommended a private bathhouse, which was really great! The private bathhouse even had a small heated floor and a spa massage bed 💆🏻‍♂️ So comfortable! Highly recommended! Yueyue's service was excellent and very warm ❤️‍🔥 Thumbs up to her!

The red-crowned cranes were very beautiful. The wetland park was large and the air was exceptionally fresh. The crane release was very short. The only downside was that the wetland museum wasn't open to the public. I wonder if it was because I went on a Monday.

As a scenic spot with profound historical and cultural heritage in Heilongjiang, Heilongjiang Military Governor's Office brings tourists a unique tour experience. The architectural style of the Military Governor's Office is unique, with typical modern architectural features. Its appearance is solemn and majestic, and the tall walls and heavy gates show the majesty of the past. The building structure is regular, integrating Chinese and Western architectural elements. It has both the symmetrical beauty of Chinese architecture and the decorative details of Western architecture, such as exquisite columns and carved doors and windows. These elements are intertwined to form a building with artistic value. Walking in the courtyard of the Military Governor's Office, the ancient building exudes a quiet and mysterious atmosphere. The mottled walls seem to be telling the story of the years, and every brick and tile carries the memory of history, making people seem to travel back to that turbulent modern period. In general, the Heilongjiang Military Governor's Office is a historical and cultural attraction that is very worth visiting. It attracts tourists with its unique architectural style, rich historical displays and high-quality tour services. Although there are some shortcomings, the historical value and cultural charm it contains cannot be ignored. I hope that the scenic spot can continue to improve and perfect itself in the future to attract more tourists to experience Heilongjiang’s modern history and culture.
