Britannia was built by John Brown & Co. Ltd in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It was launched on April 16, 1953 by Queen Elizabeth II, and the maiden voyage was on January 11, 1954. It was designed to be converted into a hospital ship during wartime, but was never actually converted. Britannia has been used by the Queen and other members of the Royal Family on 696 foreign visits and 272 visits within British waters. In 1981, Prince Charles and Princess Diana used the Britannia for their honeymoon. In 1986, he also rescued 1,000 refugees from the civil war in Aden. In 1997, due to operating costs, the Labour government announced the retirement of the Britannia after it came to power. The Britannia has traveled more than 1 million miles. After decommissioning, it was permanently moored at the Marine Terminal at the Port of Leith in Edinburgh, Scotland, and became a tourist attraction. The decoration of the ship is not ostentatious, but it does not lose its elegant temperament. Visitors can buy tickets to board the ship to visit the elegant suites, crew quarters and the eye-catching Royal Deck Tea Room, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sea, or enjoy traditional British style on the deck. Afternoon tea and cakes, feel the life of the royal family when they sailed to sea on a yacht.Edinburgh · 14.1 km from Roslin
The Ghost Bus Tours Edinburgh

The Ghost Bus Tours Edinburgh

4.1
The Edinburgh Ghost Bus Tour is a theatrical sightseeing tour, taking you on a journey around the darker side of Edinburgh. Your creepy conductor shows you the sights onboard a classic 1960s Routemaster bus as you experience the travelling ghost tour of Edinburgh. Learn about witches, grave robbers, plague and of course the ghosts that reside in the most haunted city in Europe. A comedy horror show as you travel around the city, this is the perfect way to see Edinburgh and discover it's dark and unusual secrets. This sightseeing bus tour is a journey around Edinburgh's gruesome past, while seeing the city's most famous sites, including Edinburgh Castle, The New Town, Grassmarket, Greyfriar's Kirk, The Old Town, Holyrood Palace and the Royal Mile. The Conductor will show you where the murders, tortures and executions took place - and where certain restless spirits still linger. Hear about Edinburgh's grisly history, from Burke and Hare to the hundreds of women drowned or burned as witches. There are also surprises onboard the bus - it was indeed once a funeral bus, so it's not a surprise that the dead may have left an imprint on the vehicle. Enjoy this spooky ride aboard the only surviving Necropolis Bus. The Necropolis Bus Company began in the 19th century as a private funeral bus service carrying the deceased, pallbearers and mourners to the final resting place. Painted in the traditional midnight black of all the Necropolis Routemaster buses, decorative features include lamps and window curtains. In 1967, the entire fleet was destroyed in a mysterious fire... only one bus survived. Will you?Edinburgh · 10.4 km from Roslin

There are many restaurants in the square and the surrounding streets, and Edinburghs are often noisy late into the night. Statue of the righteous dog Bobby: There is a bronze statue of a little poodle on the intersection of George IV Bridge Street and Candomec Road. It is the righteous dog Bobby who deeply moved the people of Edinburgh. After Bobby's owner, the Rev. John Gray, died in 1858, Bobby stood guard over the grave for 14 years until his death in 1872. To commemorate Bobby, people built this bronze statue for him. Its tomb is at the entrance of Graves Church next to it. In front of the tombstone, there are still bouquets and toys presented by mourners from time to time. Its owner is also buried in the church.Edinburgh · 10.4 km from Roslin

I specifically mentioned that I have never been to Mary King's Close. This ancient image really makes me feel like I have traveled through time, and it also gives us a particularly good feeling of reminiscing about the past.
